Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition

Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition

IMHO pierce was a mistake
NOT talking about MP, as I don't care in the slightest, but about the game in general: not only there are very few, but all of them are signatures, so it's difficult to find a digimon you like which has one (I felt betrayed between Lucemon and Lucemon FM, really?).

The problem though is that they completely break the challenge even for "secret" bosses: I have Lilithmon in the party which has a INT-pierce signature skill (I've always used Lilithmon in any digimon story game since DS), and she is literally the only one I can do heavy damage with: everyone else does crappy damage in comparison. Lucemon SM's signature is INT-based with 200 base power, but despite that, I did merely 298 damage on data type royal knighs bosses (despite the fact that has more than 300 INT stat). Instead, with Lilithmon, I did almost 2k damage. All of this was on normal difficulty.

In hard difficulty the real problem is rather than difficulty strategy wise, bosses become just HP sponges (or really tanky) so pierce is the way to go if you don't want to spend a hour of repetitiveness against the same enemy.

I wish that pierce moves weren't just signature and dealt less damage, so that we would prefer many more digimons.

Not saying anything against the game though, I'm really loving it, this is just one aspect I dislike of it.

Pierce shouldn't do less, rather non-pierce should do more. That or HP needs to be drastically reduced as well. The disparity between doing 100-300 damage per hit with non-pierce and 2000+ with pierce is insane, but trying to beat anything with only 100-300 damage per hit is also insane (especially when the bosses one-shot your whole party too).

Exactly. I felt frustrated by the too low damage from non-pierce moves against those bosses, which kind of forced me to use the pierce one, if I didn't want to just sit there for a boring 50+ turns fight.

A good game nonetheless but I'm surprised the devs didn't fix this on hacker's memory when it was developed.
that's what you get for playing on Hard... Normal is a perfectly metered journey and nothing feels like a sponge, and gets enough moves off you have to know mechanics but don't have to wait 20 turns to kill boss... You're just harming your own experience by playing on Hard if you think like this, play Normal.

I switched back to normal ages ago, reason for which I only mentioned how hard is literally useless challenge wise, but calling normal perfectly metered is too much, there is still unbalance damage wise between non-pierce and pierce moves, which makes boss fights as boring as hard.

I'm talking about post game content wise though, most of the times story bosses weren't as much as hp sponges, on normal.
