This game is insane!
So ive been playing for a while now and....well it just broke me. Everything about it is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy. From the writing to the model poses. I have to ask if anyone is getting broken as a human being because of it. Like one of the chat options for a side quest, ALL OF THE OPTIONS ARE JUST PARTS OF THE SAME SENTANCE! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1897042759

that's because all options would produce the same result, it just lets you know that your character ponders for a moment before saying that.

Lots of corners in translating yes. I haven't noticed anything with the port in particular, other than the missing Japanese language. The bad translation wouldn't matter if I could translate it myself...

What about the fact that all the controls are meant for Xbox controller? Or when it tells you to use a button it tells you to use the xbox button? Or the fact you can't use your mouse for any of the buttons?

This made me want to buy the game in switch version until I realized that you gotta pay extra for online services.

So why does it even let you choose?

I ain't a developer, but it kind of makes sense to me because when your character goes into thought a text choice always pops up.

It shouldn't even let you choose an option if the end result is going to be the same.

illusion of choice, pretty much no matter what choices you make in dialogue nothing in the story actually changes, you might get 1-3 extra lines of dialogue for that choice, but nothing changes in the end... If you want branching choices to matter, you gotta play games like Little Busters.

Almost all the games on steam show xbox buttons, are you new here?
The game is showing an X instead of a square, literally unplayable, am i right?

The only thing this game has broken in me if my trust for Bandai Namco and how they'll handle future Digimon Games.

It's honestly the worst translation in a video game I've purchased in over 25 years of gaming. I don't know how it's putting 80's Japanese titles to shame in a release from 2015.

But honestly the translation is also the least of my worries. I feel like this game is really lacking in mechanical depth when I compare it to the previous Digimon Story games. To me it feels like everything interesting was stripped away and they just went butt-backwards with the changes to the DigiFarm which is no longer passive and requires manual babysitting every 30 mins - 2 hours.

I think "Illusion of choice" would require...A choice? This isnt a choice, no matter how tiny, it is one sentence, not three, you chose what part of it to say, but if you look at the text its just one that they cut off at seemingly random points.

Configure a PS4 controller with Steam Big Picture. That'll get you playing the game with PS buttons.

I'm pretty sure they didn't check the text length limit, this shouldn't happen with official localizations.

Yeah having option text boxes filled with broken sentences is just a plain bad translation and bad QA. Nothing more, nothing less. Don't make excuses for poor quality and lack of care put into this translation.
