Well; she is the OG Queen of Furrybait, after all.
EDIT: Before you say the voice, that'd be claiming Son Goku(Dragon Ball) was a girl in Japanese. Same for Satoshi/Ash Ketchum(Pokémon) and a few hundred other male and genderless characters.
@Asra: Yes, they said "Digimon Adventures"...
I'm convinced that the "Digimon have no gender" thing was the Japanese writers trolling everybody.
I mean think about it.
- Why would the subject of digimon gender only come up in the 3rd series?
- It's so convenient that Renamon (Again, Queen of Furrybait) was the one to say they were genderless
- There didn't seem to be any indication that Digimon LACKED genders. Quite the opposite actually. In Adventures 1, Gomamon gets into trouble for swimming around in the girl's bath. With the exception of German Renamon, Digimon don't typically switch genders when they digivolve (Agumon and Gabumon's entire evolution lines are quite masculine. Palmon digivolves into Lillymon, Gatomon into Angewomon, Renamon into Sakuyamon, etc) And in fact, now that I think about it, there is a point in Adventures 1 where you see separate male/female restrooms

In other words, the Japanese writers were just trolling (And/or getting annoyed that everybody was drawing porn of their characters) and probably piss themselves laughing when ever people bring it up nearly 20 years later.
Angemon can evolve into Angewomon. Devimon can digivolve into LadyDevimon.
You know ♥♥♥♥ about Digimon, and just talk your made-up theories that don't even stand in anyway once you look at more than your selected things.
Concerning the restrooms, everything in the DigiWorld in Adventure is based on the real world. There you have your reason in-canon. Not in your headcanon, who nobody could care about less.
If you couldn't tell by my Pokemon username, and pokemon avatar, I'm not even a Digimon fan. I just get annoyed when "Fans" of something get toxic because at one point in one part of one episode of one particular show, a character said something.
Quite frankly, I couldn't give less of a ♥♥♥♥ about a universe where this exists: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/313162733178585091/642900437787475969/latest.png
^-- Official Artwork of an actual digimon
I was only talking about what the real Writers, in real-world Japan, who's real job is writing Renamon's made up dialogue were thinking. Or not thinking. Since, having gotten up to Episode 24 of the anime so far, I realize that the Japanese writers are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrible. The part that really got to me was when they just strait up ripped off an episode of Pokemon, and Tye even started acting like Ash.
Don't get me wrong, the Pokémon-Anime can be entertaining, but it's pure ♥♥♥♥ from a writing standpoint after the Orange League.
And now you're going "I don't care about it, I'm smarter than thou and know what others are thinking!" just because you've been disproven...good job, kiddo.
Also, wtf is wrong with your brain for thinking you can't like Pokémon and Digimon both like I do? Your toxic levels are over 9000, seriously, yet you call being called out on ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ statements "toxic".
EDIT: Yes, I'm gonna be more trusting of the German translation for Digimon Adventure than most others. Simply because seeing the dumpster fire the English dub is...yeah...
---
I'm not going to stop calling Renamon a 'she' just because of some dumpster-fire of an anime.
And whether you accept that fact or not is not really my problem.
Smugass: Goes by their headcanon.
I think that sums it up nicely.
Let them have their fun. I am not a huge fan of Erinyes - Furies - but I don't mind some semi-fury stuff. Weird personal preferences aside, canonically, Digimon have no gender. But some designs are literally screaming by the looks, that still doesn't give them/identify them as specific gender, but since some of them have humanoid characteristics/features and we as fans and sane people can see things familiar to us, in order to describe them, we may end up using the "g" word here.
That aside, we know Angewomon comes from Angemon for example can be digivolved from Angemon and that Angemon is a step below Angewomon in rank and power, Angemon is still going to look like a male to me and Angewomon is still going to look like a woman. Even part of its name is basically "woman".
I'd say to let the people have fun, so long as it doesn't and shouldn't affect your opinion and knowledge based on canon facts, then, the headcanon can be a thing.
Braixen: Is sick of fans of everything getting toxic when ever the subject of a character's gender and sexuality comes up. (Ever thought of how I, who's online persona is a 1 in 8 chance female braixen, feel about this?)
Yamino: Builds a straw braixen and starts screaming at it about head-cannons or what ever.
