Digivolving to a higher stage gives you ABI too but not nearly as much as de-digivolving.
Just digivolve as soon as possible no need to max level first because you don't gain enough ABI to make it worth going over the requirements only de-digivolving matters.
Sadly nope. This is because every digimon has its own max stats cap a la pokemon. Probably due to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mp portion of the game.
I liked this system back on the DS, at least I could use all the digimon forms I liked over being stuck with megas for usefulness :/
To each his own I suppose.
Probably because by doing so, you would eventually reach the needed stats thanks to the ever increasing level cap, without feeling the need to put the bonus stats through the digi-farm.
This is why I can't say these are my favorite digimon games. Dusk/Dawn and DS were more interesting mechanically for me, and even those were a bit of a disappointment for me (only slightly) when I compare them to Digimon World 2.
Cybersleuth has neutered the stat growths so much and made them annoying to get, since it seems the only way (so far as I've seen in 20 hours) is to manually command Digimon to train on the digifarm to build them. Which takes 30 mins to 2 hours depending on the training, and barely raises stats at all unless you have farm goods (which by 20 hours in I still don't have access to anything other then HP/SP buffs).
Training also lowers CAM, so you have to go back and grind that up if you put Digimon you use back into the farm.
This all feels absolutely backwards when I compare it to DS and Dusk/Dawn, where Farm Goods were still expensive and rare, but you would come by at least some low tier stuff by 20 hours in. Training was also automatic, with digimon gaining stats every couple of minutes automatically. Not to mention the Digifarm was not the only way to build bonus stats, since evolving and leveling did it as well.
