Team building
What is the ultimate team like, like in strongest digimon,
But also with enough difference in data, virus etc, to have all hacker abilities available?

max your memory out and get a good team of megas with support skills that aid each other.

Lilithmon for your virus type is a really strong choice. Even the nerf she got over the original version still has her incredibly strong

If you want all hacking abilities, I kept an armadillomon on me at all times for the ability that lets you initiate an encounter whenever you want, but that's mostly useful for grinding.

Also, I named him Buppy, and he was a good boy.

No one has a good idea for final team of ultimates/megas with skills etc?

Fine, you want extreme specifics? Here's the teams I came up with when I was considering replaying the games on stream. First three might have incorrect stats since it was intended to be used for PS4 Cyber Sleuth which does not have the stat updates that Hacker's Memory and PC/Switch Cyber Sleuth have, but regardless of stat changes the mons are still strong https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/162148951770791937/635977923144450049/CollageMaker_20191021_190855618.jpg

For PVE, you want Penetrating attacks, preferably double/triple damage penetrating attacks, on a mix of virus/data/vaccine digimon. Most of the major bosses have obscene defense stats, so hitting them with a penetrating attack can easily do 5-10 times the damage of a normal attack of similar power.

Additionally, Mastemon has a unique type of attack that does 25% of enemy HP for all enemies. Combined with Acceleration Boost it becomes 50%. This works no matter how much HP or defense they have, so it's insanely powerful against bosses with massive HP pools. I've heard she's basically mandatory for what I assume to be optional/bonus content.

PVP is a bit different. For one, most enemies in PVP have "normal" defense stats, so you won't see nearly as much benefit from using a penetrating attack, and two, there exist equipment items that reduce the effects of penetrating attacks significantly (as much as 30% damage reduction for a single slot, stackable).

Thank you for the comments, this is all very very interesting, and much appreciated, for the insightful comments.

Unless they nerfed it, there's an item in HM that reduces piercing damage to zero. You get it from beating the game and loading your save. It only works once so you only can have one. I tried going through the game to get one for each mon. I wasted so much time.

Playing on hard I didn't really notice too much of a problem with normal bosses. It was more that hard mode makes them ridiculous HP sponges than defense, so penetration attacks didn't seem to help much.

It is however hilarious to kill an Eater with a penetrating attack, since they have very little HP but do have obscene defense. To go from experiencing how tanky they are to just OHKOing them instantly is... an experience.

Wait, accel boost works on mastemon? I didn't know that, that's absurd lol

It doesn't, I was misinformed.

Ripp

It's still a really good opener and iirc is an AoE move so it hits *everyone*, but yeah accel boost on that would be absurd lol

Still useful to have on her though if you want to use her to buff piercers

I really appreciate this! Funnily enough I was planning on using Mastemon/Lillithmon/Rosemon as my primary 3, as well as Jesmon and Alphamon.

Just wondering though, are these skill builds primarily set up for PvP? Or would they also work in PvE?

These were put together with the intent of being used in a "3-only" run of the games, so not PvP but maybe a little overpowered or overprepared for PvE as well

Though, these were also made with a lot of digivolving up and down for specific skills in mind, so if you don't want to pour all your time into perfecting your mages (the Knights are easier to get things like Accel Boost onto) then you'll likely have a less Maxed Out moveset
