Were bosses buffed?
I am early in the game, just faced the Poyomon boss within the cyberspace. This boss is supposed to have 100 hp on normal difficulty. But for me he had well over 1000. It was very difficult to take him down.

Did they buff bosses or is something else going on?

Edit: so far Poyomon is the only boss this has happened to.

The game is based on the updated Japanese version of CS that added things from HM back into the first game, which included things like stat changes. I have no idea why they would bother changing the stats for a digimon like poyomon, but for other examples PlatinumSukamon has 999 DEF in HM and the "2.0" version of CS while they very much did not have that much defense in the previous English release of CS

I think it's Poyomon in general. There's one in the first tier of the arena that also inexplicably has >1000 hp while all the other digimon there have normal amounts.

That could be it? At first I thought the game was attempting to scale up due to my use of one of the chibi royal knights. Good to know it wasn't that. Though now I am extra paranoid going into boss fights lmao-

Man I am just glad it wasn't just me- lmao. I was waiting for the 'git gud' posts

Honestly to me it just sounds like you picked hard difficulty when you were used to normal difficulty. That's pretty much how huge the difference in stats is, especially with bosses all being HP sponges.

Normally I would think that too. But every boss since Poyomon has had normal difficulty stats

I suppose posting here (and necroing) is better than starting a new thread.

Just came across that Poyomon, even refighting it my guys hit for <20 with Champion tier Digimon. I ended up fairly lucky getting Clockmon as my first Champion who can hit for a guaranteed 150 or else this fight just isn't doable at this stage of the game without spending 100+ turns and dozens of healing items.

Not at all true, I haven't had a single issue on hard so far until this random Poyomon. The hardest fight besides this was actually the first fight the game gave me with the rare two Koromon encounter and it took all 6 of the healing items from the first chest to beat (in hindsight I should've ran).

Anyway, for the benefit of anyone else wandering into the thread wondering how to beat this fight you want to evolve a Clockmon from Hagurumon (from Motimon, from Pabumon). Then any two defensive type Digimon to tank hits and heal hp/ sp. For reference, this boss has ~1700 hp and hits most Digimon you have at this stage of the game for 300. Still hits for 100-150 even with defense types and some extra training done.

It's good to know that it's not just me that this has happened to- I honestly think it's a bug with that particular boss, as it still hasn't happened again on anything else.

Yeah its a tad silly, that Toyomon has comparable stats to the Devimon boss I just fought. Only ~500 less hp and does ~100 less damage.
