Is there " die of old age" mechanic in the game?
I hate it.

I played a psp game and Digimon in the game has life span of 15 in game days. Sure they can recanation and inherit skill from old monster but it isn't fun to start over again and again like that. Evole a Digimon to Mega. Next day it die and revert back to a baby. Well that isn't fun.

There is not.

No, I've played this one on Ps4 and they don't die from old age or anything else otherr than battle

No it's a JRPG kinda like SMT(or persona if you would) in terms of gameplay, uses a conditional turned based system like FFX as well

That sounds like a World game, which is focused on raising and training digimon. this is a Story game, which is a more traditional JRPG. no aging here.

Nope, the Story series doesn't do that - World series does. I hate that feature honestly. Next Order made me pissed lol.

Problem is there are many Digimon World games that are also JRPGs. In fact, Cybersleuth is incredibly similar (pretty much identical, really) to Digimon World DS and Dusk/Dawn on the DS. All of which don't have lifespans for Digimon.

Also there was Digimon World 2 and 3, both are JRPGs, with Digimon World 2 being a lot like Shin Megami Tensei with Digimon DNA fusions, and Digimon World 3 being very close to Final Fantasy.

And then there's Digimon World 4 which I prefer to pretend doesn't exist, was an Action-RPG that was incredibly grindy and had very little in content.

You're not wrong, but that was before they started the 'Story' label. From what I've heard (in the past, don't have a source) Story games going forward are going to be the straight JRPGs with World games being the raising games with whatever level of RPG content they decide on.

It's because Bandai, don't ask me why, decided to rebrand the DS games as "World" here in the west. But the DS games are actually a "Digimon Story" already.

Probably, but Digimon Stories includes Digimon World DS and Dawn/Dusk in it... so it's already confusing to start with. At least they are appropriately the same mechanics and genre.

And then we have Digimon Survive coming up in the future and delayed already. Apparently a TRPG with Visual Novel elements and decisions affecting how the story and your Digimon turn out or something.

I guess because World was their biggest IP in the West and they thought it would help sell more units outside of Japan?

I wouldn't have thought twice about it anyways. Digimon World 2, 3 and 4 already established that there was no core genre for the "series" and every game has always been different.

Anyways, @OP there's only really 3 Digimon World games that have Lifespans for Digimon. Digimon World (1), Digimon World Re:Digitize, and Digimon World Next Order. These games are all pretty much the same design gameplay-wise.

If I'm missing any, I can't find any information on them. Re:Digitize never even left Japan officially.

Re:Digitize does not have a official release but does has a fan translation that is good from what i remember but you need a emulator for that.

Yeah, my mistake. I was actually looking at the Next Order WW release and was thinking I'd love to see a Switch/PC port.

I'm also aware of there being a fan patch for Re:Digitize, and it's why I thought to say it was never officially released outside of Japan.

I'd almost suggest for a Re:Digitize/Next Order bundle port next, but... they're not exactly connected like the Cybersleuth games are.

i would buy that since they never released Re:Digitize over here and next order was great on ps4 so it would be nice if they did that it would be a good way to get Re:Digitize localized and have it sell better at the same time.

Just like the others correctly have told you, there is no death and there is no death penalty, like, losing your Digimon forever. Not in this game(s) at least. You're fine. I had the first game on my PS4 and I really enjoyed it.

Thx for the answers guys. Only watch anime and the first Digimon game I played had this life span system so I never play another game. I will give this a try.
