Benefits of Cleaning & Repair Rooms

I've played through most of Story Mode and working on an Endless Mode game. I have put in both the Cleaning Room and Repair Room, but it still notifies me and requires me to address cleaning and repairs. Has someone figured out the benefit of these two rooms? Otherwise, maybe it's a bug that needs to be addressed, so that those rooms take care of those problems without having the play the cards.
