I am having the same issue. Just hangs at "Loading Game Data" for a while then after some time it will error out saying it failed to download the data. I have tried disabling firewall, disabling antivirus... though none of those bothered it before. Still, does not get past this screen. It is as if the game is unable to reach the server.

My computer said it has to install and reboot for this update. After the update, the game no longer starts, only a tiny window shows. The only way to terminate it is through Task Manager. LM was working without issues before the update.

Update is "February 9, 2021-KB4601056 - Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10, version 1909, and Windows Server, version 1909"

For me on that date, the update was KB4601050 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10, version 2004, Windows Server, version 2004, Windows 10, version 20H2, and Windows Server, version 20H2. That would be when this stopped working.

------

Just an update:
I have tried uninstalling KB4601050 to no success. The app still does not load data and fails. That or it 'does load the data' and simply doesn't move past this stage to the proper next stage so thus fail anyway.

I think, where the app is having issues, looking at this 'update' in both cases is what was 'fixed' in the security issue. It is where it creates the new window when we would normally click to log in. If they are still using the 'old method' it can cause the app to fail / crash. The only workaround is for the app to be updated to the newer method (a change in the line) to call to the new command feature that replaced the security flaw.

Again, this is going on... if this IS the issue that is causing the app to fail.
