Try now with the latest patch. There were some stability fixes that went out.

I'm getting them in the dreamworld, and the further I go the harsher they become.

I'm currently upgrading which version of Unreal Engine we're using which hopefully reduces some of these issues.

It didn't.

That's a shame. Do you happen to have the game on an HDD? I think there might be a blocking load issue I still need to track down and if that's the case, temporarily moving the game to an SSD will alleviate the stuttering.

EDIT: Also, if you could share your hardware specs with me that would help me track down the issue.

Second EDIT: If you have an AMD processor it might be related to audio. There are people reporting similar issues and posting workarounds here: https://mordhau.com/forum/topic/14637/stuttering-and-freezing-issues/?page=4 .. might be worth trying them.

My game was freezing completely, once when starting I just got a black screen, the other was completing a minesweeper puzzle and when I opened the chest for the item it completely froze again. Played several hours yesterday completely fine

So just to confirm - both drives you have are HDDs and not SSDs?

Yes.

I had a few incidents after the last patch, not full on freezing, but sever choppiness. However, that hasn't happened on my last several games. When it does happen though, it's pretty much game breaking.

I'm going to have to take some time to do a deeper dive into solving this problem over the next few weeks. The biggest problem is that I don't actually own an HDD and since I suspect that's where the issue is, I'm unable to reproduce the issue at this time.

One thing that might be worth trying yourself is making sure you don't have anything running in the background that could be competing for disk reads/writes. In particular, there might be some antivirus software that's constantly "double checking" every time Dreamscaper tries to load in an asset which could cause be exacerbating the hitches.

Also, this is probably not the case, but it's worth mentioning that I've found if I have Netflix on Chrome up on one window while playing Dreamscaper on another, I experience stuttering myself.
Nicodemous52 Sep 12, 2020 @ 7:12am
I wouldn't think that was the issue for me, but then again, it's not happened in a long time now, so perhaps it was something on my end that isn't currently happening.
