saving issues

my computer crashed in the middle of playing and when i opened the game back up it brought me to the beginning :( i went into local files and found saves from about an hour ago but i don't know how to put them in the game if that makes any sense. is there anyone that could help me with this?? (save files found when i went (Crime Scene Cleaner > CrimeCleaner_Data > Saves > SavesBackups0) in my files)

you can try to prevent huge mapprogress loss with leaving to the main menu and pressing continue to make a save of the level (that way even if you crash you atleast have that progress)
if its even more as just the map, you should also post about it in the feedback/bug thread the dev pinned

it sent me back to the progress i had when i started playing, luckily it was just the first two but still pretty annoying. i've been leaving to the main menu now just in case

Bypassing the save issue by Exiting to main menu is a good idea, however for me clicking the "Exit to Main Menu" Button does nothing. It simply doesn't exit. It's like a decoration button, doesn't work. So to close the game I have to Alt+F4 which means it resets my save completely...this needs to be fixed so badly.

my saving slot somehow got deleted after i finished level 3. i had to start over, and up until the museum level everything was fine. still had to clean the museum but since the game makes me motion sick at some point of playing, i went back to the home menu. the file got saved and you could see the museum. that was yesterday. now i wanted to play again and i got thrown back to level 4. this is making me go crazy

Hey guys, I had a similar problem when playing today but I also found a solution! My laptop crashed in the middle of mission 5. When I come back in, all my save files were gone, and the Continue button took me all the way back to mission 1.
What I did was going to the game's SavesBackups0 files (Steam\steamapps\common\Crime Scene Cleaner\CrimeCleaner_Data\Saves\SavesBackups0), copy the latest file and paste to the save files folder (the other one in the Saves that contains the .es3 files), delete the other .es3 files in there, then rename the new file that I just brought over into Slot1.es3. After that, I opened the game and my progress was back! Not sure if it'll work for anyone else but maybe it's worth a try.

Is it possible to SAVE the game while we are in a mission? Because I was able to save, but when Im back at home... not in the murder place.

Pretty sure your game will be saved when you choose the Exit to Main Menu option, even when you're in the middle of a mission.
