Money in game. [feedback]
I just want to start by saying I feel I'm really getting my own moneys worth out of this game, it's scratching an itch that I haven't felt about a game in a while, so thank you for making an amazing game.

The only thing I'm a little disappointed in unless I've missed something obvious is the loot doesn't really hold any real value in the game beyond being able to perfectly complete a level.

It would be nice in future patches to see that perhaps changed slightly? So your daughter in hospital is apparently very sick and needs you to pay for her hospital care and etc. However we don't know how much that is, perhaps make the levels mean something beyond cleaning by having you find the loot and thus being able to pay for that care or other upgrades in the game?

Other than that as I say I'm really enjoying my time with this game, so thank you.

The money acts as XP which gives you upgrade points.

The money translates to XP, but I do agree it's very, very odd for the whole story to revolve around problems of poverty while spending your hardwon pennies on fancy mops and powerwash nozzles.

I took the fact that with each level after a point, the house gets cleaner and more put together, which I assumed was the result of an influx of cash that allowed it to be fixed up.

There was also the fact that between the first few missions I found bills, both for your daughter's treatment and things like utility bills that were past due, but as you progress those vanish and given that the power is still on...

I haven't finished the game yet but the emails that come in from the daughter tell me shes still getting treatment which means the bills must be getting paid as again, early game, you find a letter from the clinic treating her telling you that if you don't pay, they'll stop treatment.

the money DOES translate to XP ...
(Tiny Spoiler i guess but its something you learn the first minutes in game):

But storywise: the Main character spends the earned money on the Pricy treatment of his sick daughter.

I think a lot of the cleaning was done by the main character between episodes, at least in the beginning as I recall a few times between jobs looking and signs of him doing the work himself. I think the bulk of his money goes to the daughter for her bills but he makes enough to fix the late bills and enable him to finish cleaning the place up. Maybe they just moved in?
Previous posters have mentioned it, your house gets gradually cleaner and tidier as you progress each "go to bed" after a mission and a time skip happens. This is the storyteller telling you he's doing better financially after each job he's taken. Assuming (and we have no reason to assume this) that he isn't foregoing his daughter's treatment but instead went on a home depot shopping spree squandering all the money.

Which leaves us with only one conclusion/inquiry, is the job pay + what he steals enough to cover the medical expense, with enough leftover to get a new bucket, few extra mops and detergents?

Consider I'm stealing roughly 7k every job that pays around 10k, and that's around maybe 15k a job/night. All his equipment fully upgraded including gas and garbage bag money AT MOST costs 10k USD total for the entire stint of the game. What I'm trying to say is after do a breakdown/conversion between $ and Skill Points after each mission and how much an extra mop cost in terms of skill points, you're probably spending 10% of your money on supplies, with 90% of going to bills.

So it makes perfect sense as of the story's conclusion. But it clearly isn't over yet.
