How do I get the elevator to work? I have the keycard but for some reason can't get the elevator to function. Have already activated and deactivated but I feel like I'm missing something obvious

Once inside the elevator use the control panel inside the elevator. If you can't open the doors you're not using the correct keycard

So inserting the key card into the Control Room terminal just lets you toggle the power switch for that system. Do that first if you haven't.

Then, as per the notes around the warehouse, you can power 3 systems at any given time. If you try to power 4 systems it will overload and shut everything down.

Once you've inserted the key card into the Control Terminal, and flipped the switch to the on position(indicated with a glowing green light) you'll be able to use the elevator buttons.

Generally I started with lights, hatches, and conveyors. This let me dump bodies and trash and have it 'mostly' carted into the truck. After that I shut off the conveyors in favor of the elevator. Last I shut hatches to use the magnet.
