Scaredy-cat question - Modern Art

I was glancing over the secrets/cassette guide for Modern Art and noticed that there's something about "defeat the enemies" in the secret related to the monitors - could someone give me more info about what that is, please? I didn't think there was any combat in this game?

I'm a big wimp on scary stuff - the guide for the scares in the haunted house level helped with that one, but I don't have any info for this one (or the warehouse, if there's anything spooky in that one?) :( The lights going out on the music stage already scared the crap out of me, and the increasingly common mannequins are also lowkey freaking me out especially the one in my basement

Loving the game so far overall! PWS is my go-to chill-out game, and I know this is only passingly similar to it, but it scratches the same cleaning itch :) I just need to stop expecting it to not be spooky lol

You get a katana in the secret room that opens after you solve the monitor riddle.
Once you take the sword and turn around, a bunch of mannequins stand in your way and you have to destroy them with your newly equipped katana (like how you chop up wooden planks with the axe). It IS pretty creepy, but the mannequins don't move or anything. Some just stand there, some look like they're coming out of the mirrors on the walls and there is a big one directly above the exit.

To make sure I understand: So there's no threat, like they don't attack you, it's just creepy AF that they're there and you can't leave until you "kill" them?

edit spoilers: weird sounds and they will come out of pictures not move.
its roundbased so you will turnaround and see new once already outside to hit again.

if you are really scared, take headphones off and smack the dolls
if you do it fast its not even 60 secounds.

after leaving the area one will stand near the monitors with the last cassette

nothing can harm you while doing that.

they made it sound a bit more intense than it is.
basically you pick up the katana and equip it like a tool, like you can actually swing it and break stuff.

then you turn around and a bunch of mennequins are just standing in the room or hanging out of mirrors. none o f them move or anything, the music gets a bit intense like something out of Doom. and you need to smack all the mennequins a couple times til they shatter.

theres a really big one floating above the exit, but it takes maybe like 1 or 2 more hits than the small ones.

aim for the body or legs, it you chop off the mennequin head or arms they dont count as destroyed.

once youre done you exit the room, and a mennequin wearing a suit is there with the cassette for the doom esque music in his hand.

the whole thing isnt any scarier than the short circuit mission. in fact i got more chills on short circuit then the mennequin room.

katana is fun to use on the next mission too because theres a ton of wooden boxes to smash and you can go all samurai on them

My advice for these segments is to mute and put the game in Windowed mode, with another browser window behind the screen to distract. For extreme cases, have a Youtube video playing on the second screen.

The band jumpscare scared the hell out of me T-T

Actually after you fight the mannequins, the one that was in the hallway by the band disappears! (I found this out because I went back specifically to find and kill that one because it was creepy)... Turns out had just killed it already in the minigame haha. So they're technically mannequins from around the museam that you have "killed."
