Stutter
I have these stutter issues whenever I load into missions. The kind that you can relate to with BO 2 ping problems...those kind of stutters. No stuttering in the appartement, it runs really smooth there. Could this be an optimisation thing, seeing that this game just released or is it purely me? But for the rest, all okay! I already love this game!

I was also suffering from the bad stutter and was able to correct it by switching from Fullscreen to Borderless. IDK if this is the same for everyone else, but I hope it helps.

Thanks, I'll give this a shot. Was it just stutters or does your character movement slow down for a few seconds and then rubber band back?
Origineel geplaatst door Ps_TresTres:
Me too. Almost like rubber-banding. It's a guarantee if I adjust the in-game lighting slider. For whatever reason it always starts very dark in the game (only on this desktop though). It's not like that on ROG Ally or Steam Deck.

My specs:
Windows 11 home 64-bit
Asus MB
13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-13100F
Nvidia 4070
32GB Memory

Hope this helps someone... When I turned V-Sync "Off" it fixed all of my sluggish/stutters. I figured it out after it started happening in Power Wash Simulator too. For reference, I was capping the in-game FPS at 60 via the menu (in both games) but my monitor is 300Hz. It's never been an issue before but who knows.

Turn your settings down from Ultra to High, it won't hurt, I had to do it and I really shouldn't, it didn't look worse. Stutters disappeared.

Good tip! I tried it but no luck for me...altough there were less stutters. I turned it back up to ultra just to see the difference and the stutters were again through the roof.
I am having this exact same issue on a brand new, high end gaming PC. Tried lower settings; that didn't work. Updated drivers? That didn't work. Anything else?
For anyone having stuttering issues, I realized that when I turn off v-sync, the stutters went away, and when I re-enabled it, the stutters reappeared. So its worth a shot to turn it off and see if it helps the stuttering. Also, I noticed this behavior after September 26th, I believe.

Although, I do have slight frame rate drops when looking at specific sectors of the crime scene mission/map. I noticed it more on the Mateo's Pizzeria Crime scene so I'm assuming it happens on bigger maps. I'm not entirely sure if that's a fault on my end or if its a game optimization issue.

Overall though, the game runs pretty smooth. It's just those slight fps drops that kind of bother me, but they're manageable and aren't a deal breaker to me.
Hey, same for me here, nothing helped and it started after I finished the game and just playing the missions alone. Turning V-sync off helped me here, thank you!
To anyone struggling with this now! Turning off v sync fixed it for me. I had to problem with the game prior and it started to suddenly. But yeah it does fix it! :)
my game has a literal fps drop its going down to 10 fps everytime i open it, ive checked my drivers, theyre up to date my pc is overall powerful as hell, ive tried to turn down the graphics in the game too, nothing is helping, im not teleporting or stuttering, it is full lag
I'm not sure if this counts, but whenever I use the pressure washer for any reason; the game freezes for anywhere between 15 seconds to almost a minute. I always either wait for it to fix itself or just close it out...and have to start over. This didn't happen the first time I played this. It wasn't until this recent update that the game started freezing. Can anyone corroborate this?

Insane frame drops from 180+ to as low as 40, enormous stutter and lag. Lowering settings a little helped but didn't solve it. Locking frame rate to 100 or so helped but it hasn't solved it. On some maps the performance is ok, on other's it's absolutely unbearable. It also very much depends on where you are on a map, some parts work fine and then you walk to another part and you're stuttering all over the place

I'm not certain but I think part of it is because of gamepass and the nvidia app that doesn't recognize 99% of gamepass games. At least for me. The games that aren't recognized by nvidia app seem to have far worse performance and tons of issues / bugs. It's possible that the steam version doesn't do this. But the gamepass version is almost unplayable.
I have mean stutters and massive lags as well every time I pick up a body. Works fine until i pick up a body. Have to restart the game several times. Very bad at the Art gallery level and in the cabins where you clean up after Jim's kid, Other than that it runs great

No gamepass. Bought the game on steam if that has anything to say.
i know this is a very old discussion but ive managed to find a fix of the stuttering .

i switch my graphics settings a couple of times and then played with the vsying on and off and it just stopped after that

We'll optimize auto-saves soon. Currently, the entire auto-save is executed in a single frame, which takes up most of the computer's resources in that brief moment, causing this experience. We'll try to spread the save process over a slightly longer period of time so that it won't be noticeable.

We apologize for the inconvenience and greatly appreciate your understanding!
Official fix coming?
