Sega Rally Revo Crashes at start screen. (Win 10)

As I mentioned in the title. I have installed Sega Rally Revo on my new Laptop which is operating on Windows 10. The Launcher is working until the start screen where it says "Sega Rally press enter to start". When I press "enter" the game freezes for a second or two and crashes. Wndows says "Sega Rally has stoped working". Anyone can help me up, please?? I ran out of options, Windows compatibility was no help either...

Try using the SSE1 executable or downloading a NoCD crack

if you cant get it to work go into files then drag the file with launcher Raw on it to game launcher sse1 just above it and to get settings to work use that same launcher raw drag on the other launcher files the one just above it then setting will come up but for setting to work it must be left open when you start game.

I know this is necroposting. But thought it might be helpful to someone in the same situation. On my computer this was caused by an overaggressive antivirus software. I use Chili Antivirus which is basically a frontend for BitDefender. And it flagged both Sega Rally.exe and testapp.exe as infected. So if you add those files to the exceptions list for your AV you might find that the game will start again. BTW if you wonder why the files are still in your folder it's because steam automatically redownloads them when the AV quaranteens them. But you still can't run them.

Hi, a bit late but I have this problem and have discovered that in the launcher, ticking "allow force feedback" in controller options causes the game to crash before reaching the main menu. Hopefully this helps and if anyone knows how to fix this that would be great, thanks.

yes! Same here when I try to use my fanatec wheel with enabled force feedback in launcher. When I Use my Xbox One Controller and enabled "alllow force feedback" the game works fine. But with fanatec wheel it doesn't work with enabled "allow force feedback". When I uncheck this then I can play with wheel but without force feedback effects.

If I remember correctly I used a drivehub to get the wheel recognised as a logitech and it worked. There might be another way to do this, I'll check and get back

Thank you, but "Sega Rally Revo" is not listed, only "Sega Rally Championship" and when I start the patch it says "Sega Rally Championship is not installed".

I thought it was Sega Rally as in Europe it is simply known as Sega Rally not EVO. Got the link from PCGamingWiki. I think it has to be a logitech. If you can get the input to be recognised as one it should work. If not there is a no cd patch with updates that was made to circumnavigate the protection within windows 10 as it would not work otherwise, that could be worth a try.

Yes, you are right. In Europe it just called "Sega Rally". When I take a look to installed folders I can see Sega Rally.exe and Sega Rally_SSE1.exe files. I have installed the latest version 4.0.6.0 with no exe fix. In the launcher I can set my wheel buttons and axis. Only enabling FFB in the launcher causes a crash after "continue" in the start screen when I use my fanatec wheel.

I remember being in your exact position. I am almost certain that it was using the drivehub to have the wheel recognised as a logitech is what fixed it. I think it is an issue with the direct input. Maybe a mess around with control config files or placing a new input.dll file inside. Wish I could help but I do not think a program to convert direct input to raw is available.

Thank you for your help. Currently I Play with XBox One Controller with enabled FFB Effects and it works fine. Playing with a wheel without FFB Effects is not a option for me. I have tried everything but without success. Sega Rally is still a great racing game and I will keep it on my hdd for a long time as possible.

I agree it is a great game and still looks great too. It is extremely hard though, especially the further through the game you get.

delete your config file from your documents folder and create a new one with the game's launcher, that worked for me.

Hi everyone
je viens de réussir à lancer Sega rally revo sur windows 10
il suffit de le lancer à partir du CD du jeu avec le lanceur SEGA Rally_SSE1 qui se trouve sur le CD dans program files >SEGA>SEGA Rally
et en ajoutant ce lanceur aux jeux non Steam il se lance avec Steam directement
c cool
mais on n'a pas la page de réglage des paramètres
pour avoir cette page il faut lancer le jeu à partir du lanceur dans le dossier d'installation du jeu Clic droit et Exécuter en tant qu'administrateur
la fenêtre s'ouvre réglez vos parametres et lanccez avec Steam
Pour ma config je joue avec une 1080Ti sur un écran 32 pouces avec l'affichage en 2560x1440 en élévé
Par contre vous l'aurez compris il faut le CD et le patch du jeu (SEGARally.PC.Patch.v4.060)
qui permet l'accès à toutes les courses
Je l'aurai bien mis en lien mais je ne sais pas comment l'ajouter
