What does "Soul Level" do?
I noticed it increasing after the game, but I'm not sure what it affects. More health? Better cards?

Only raised soul level once on my characters but each got a new class card they could pick when leveling.

I wish someone had answered this, because it's not well explained. I THINK it increases the number of cards you have to pick from on level up once you hit level 5 or something. I wondering if it also adds cards into the rotation for level up picks as you increase the level.

It used to add cards, but iirc they rolled that into the base selection. ATM it doesn't do anything, but in the future it will be used for cosmetic stuff.

So yeah..the answer is "nobody knows". My guys are around level 15 and it seems to make no difference whatsoever.

How can I know the status of current Soul Level in the preparing menu?

It's on the statistics tab from the main menu.

Soul level use to unlock cards for that hero.
Think it like heroes rank in Slay The Spire.
There are unlockable cards character level up during quest (not soul)

Increasing soul level sure makes it harder to get the cards I want. I end up skipping my card picks on level-ups more and more as the soul level goes up on a class. I kinda wish that soul level would also increase the number of cards you get to pick from.

It is essentially meta progression. There is an option to skip it in menu.
