controller support//steam deck

I would love to play the game on the steam deck since the last time I played it was near the release and only the first chapter was available. I read in a different thread that the devs had mentioned adding controller support a couple of years ago but had no immediate plans and clearly that hasn't changed. Does anyone have any news regarding the addition of controller support?
