Controller not working
I'm using a Logitech F310 and controller is not responding to anything, including rebinding. The controller works in Blaster Master Zero without changing anything. I've got Generic Gamepad active in steam's controller settings.

I'm using an xbox one controller and have the same issue. Works fine in the 1st game, but not in this one.

Way to screw it up, Inti.

Without any replies, I ended up refunding the game over this a few days ago.

I had the same issue so I installed this xbox controller remapper and now I can play! Good luck. https://keysticks.net/

I don't know if this will help anyone else, but when my controller wasn't working, I went into big picture more and under controller support and changed to "Forced On". It worked ever since.

I'm late to the topic, but wanted to let people know disabling Steam Input for the game worked for me.
I'm using a Wii (original) Classic Pro with an adaptor.

1: Right click the game in steam's UI.
2: Properties
3: Controller
4: Select Dropdown Box
5: Disable Steam Input

I'll be interested to see if this fixes the issue for others as well.

I tried everything suggested here (I use Logitech joystick which detected as XBox Controller). The only one that usable is the keystick but the thing with keystick are they are not responsive as the original one especially on the Dpad, the movement have a pause for a few second before actually moving. Hopefully they update the controller option similar to the first one because really like this game.

Thank you, Ghost42. I don't know why, but the game worked fine without tweaking any settings about a week ago. Your suggestion to disable Steam Input made it work again. I am using a PS5 DualSense.

My controller didn't work as others mentioned, and this method does fix the problem. Thanks!

I use a Wii U Pro Controller with WiinUSoft emulating it as an XBox 360 Controller but no results here, no matter which settings I changed on either Steam or that program.
I could use Keystick but it's a bummer because it doesn't feels as good when using the D-Pad.

UPDATE: Keystick or other software was not necessary as Steam itself has a built-in keyboard emulator which you can use with the controller.
Just go the "Controller" tab in the library page of BMZ2 and set up some keyboard letters. When you run the game, set them up with them.
