Save data damage
Hello.

It seems that if you exit/crash almost immeaditly after saving it corrupts your save game. Is there possibility to modify or somehow fix your save data instead of starting all over again?

Never had this issue, so I'm at a loss.

I used to set a Symbolic link of my game saves to a cloud storage (dropbox), so that any time changes were made to my game saves, it would auto-backup versions to my cloud storage. Dropbox keeps a versioning system, so you can revert to older versions. May be worth looking into to prevent this in the future.

Thanks for nice tip about dropbox. Guess I'll start a new one.

Just had this issue as well. Was playing, saved and exited, computer froze after I was out. Restarted computer and steam reset default drive for some reason and was trying to re-download the game even though it was already downloaded in a different drive, but then it just checked the already downloaded game and boom, "save data is damaged". Fun stuff. Already put close to 10 hours into the game, not really wanting to restart now. huge bummer and honestly makes me want to just play it on an emulator or switch -_-

Yes! I just figured out a way, sorry this response came way too late. But hopefully it helps someone in the future.

Hit windows+r, and go to %APPDATA%\GRANDIA1\Saves\. Go to 0 (or whichever slot has your main save), click the folder, and you'll see 2 files. One that says "steam_autocloud" and another that represents local data. Delete the local data. It should read something like "BISLPSP02124GRA-S00". Once you delete that, the game will only read the steam backup, and will rebuild your save file. Hope this helps!

I had 50 hours. Already in Zil Desert. No way I was starting over.
