Returning player advice

Hello fellow degenerates =)

Am intending to jump back onto the game soon now that life has settled a bit for me:

Completionist in me always pushes me to complete side quests asap: my question is, should I story-blitz to get all waifus then start hitting the side quests to level affection, or ok to do them at the same time? (memory from pre-1.0 is being very starved for devotion leveling)

Could do a happy medium of:

Unlock new waifu
Max level their devotion
Repeat

I feel like this would help balance the slog of leveling and getting new "content" lol

After I got all the waifus to full devotion, I still had plenty of unexplored anomalies left, so you won't be wanting for affection either way.
