No. I have BG3 and it's nothing like it.
One, the combat is better.
Two. The story is better.
Three. The game looks better
The romance scenes are like fade to black and it's over. Even the infamous gay bear sex scene.
Subverse sex scenes are disappointing. It's 5 second loops and honestly you have no control with many of them. I think when they started they gave you an option to speed the action and ♥♥♥ but now it's just meh.
To be honest I prefer more of the VN's over this. Only thing it has going for it, is the voice acting or the story isn't too bad.
Also like Purple Sauce mentioned, Treasures of Nadia or the NLT games are good. Games like Being Adik or City of Broken Dreams is also good.

Subverse has bad "game part". Hands down. I mean, I have fun with the game, played all the missions there is to be twice. I have two complete saves I did, without "downloading" somewhere else. But the ground combat becomes stale after a while, because it does play like chess, table top, not some amazing computer chess you have around. It gets really clunky. The difficult seems to only go as more health to more damaging enemies, but once you get the jist of combat, it just takes a freaking long time doing the rinse repeat moves.
Space combat goes the same way, and "spoilers" but if you get the "geometry" of a fight, you dont even need to think where the enemies are, you just keep making those same moves, like "triangle shooting outside of it" or "triangle shooting inside of it" and eventually the enemies die. Still boring AF, because it is not hard, just takes more time as you progress.
As someone pointed out, what I really dont mind, is that the "adult payoff" is a short scene. That would not be a problem if two things compensated for it: A engaging story and a game part that is fun, but SHORT. You really dont want to have a adult game you need to a ton of shooting pixels to then "shoot for pixels" if you will.
In that, this game is kinda unique.
You have the puzzle games, which king of all was HuniPop, which sadly they are not making any new ones lately. Those were fine as a pass time, but had really bad stories, although fun, but the fact that some "teasing" would happen while you are playing, it would not feel so boring to solve the puzzles. If you have some "jokes" or some good "quotes" while playing the space or ground combat here, it would at least feel a little less boring. Although there is one strong point about Subverse, the story, and "out of space or ground combat" interactions. The idea of the gift minigame, or the conversations, backstories, etc, really add something over games like HuniPop, which does have better gameplay and more interesting mechanics, but doesnt really get story going.
That one they keep "updating" assets, mechanics and engines, Carnal Instinct. Another game that suffers the same problem this one: The game part is boring, not complex or hard. You have to do a whole "warcraft scale strategy" to see a 2 minute bj scene. The quality of the scene doesnt really matter.
Breeder of the Nephelim is by far in terms of adult game, the one that has the best measure of adult payoff, game mechanics and interesting story. It is not ideal, but it is a game you might be in control of what you do, if you want to have fun with the adult content, explore or play the actual game for a change.
The whole "asset flip clickers", and visual novels are essentially the same game, they will be you clicking things until someone is naked and someone is doing the "dance with no pants". It doesnt really get more than that. There is no actual "game" as it is just go with the flow of story and choosing what to do or not.
Most adult games on steam fall under this last category, being in general a grab for a couple bucks in exchange for some pics and very short and simple animations.
What really makes subverse unique is the whole "everything else" but the game part and the story. What makes Breeders of the Nephelim unique is that is has a somewhat interesting world to be in. It would be a really kicker if these two games could share a bit of design philosophy, and Subverse devs learn that is not about how it looks, but how it feels. And Breeders of the Nephelim developer learned that you need some diverse stuff to do with the game, even the name of the game is Breeders of the Nephelim, you could have something else to do besides that.
But regarding the topic, you wont find more elaborate adult games that are similar, because they are rare. Most adult games are "glorified visual novels" or puzzles of adult images. Those are similar one another.
some good games are kinda out of steam, on itchio I played Eternum which was pretty damn good. it is a click game tho, also Lucky Paradise is good. Take a look at them,
