Yeah it feels really weird, this game goes WAY beyond even games like HunniePop ... This feels rather odd and that people are angry over nothing.
Positivity!
Well i am suprised about reviews, it looks like game is total scam, which is not! I am just baffled but i am glad i did read your comment. Glad the reviews are not reflective of community.
Personally, I'm very underwhelmed with what they delivered so far and wouldn't recommend a purchase, I understand we are still in EA though and I do hope things turn around.
Having said that I do see your point, some people do go overboard.
A lot of people from kickstarter seem to be pissed, there's indeed a lot of claims about the crowdfund promises VS what we got, I wasn't a kickstarter backer so I can't really comment on that. On top there's the language controversy of course.
One thing I would like to point though, there's a lot of people giving valid, constructive criticism about the game and it feels like there's a lot of effort to shield the project from that.
And that's something that might just hurt Subverse in the long run.
As you said its till EA, things tend to change but so far as a proof of concept? No bad IMO.
The game is not even finished yet i see poeple complain on forum (Or at least i seen) about stuff which should be in a final game.
Mostly i seen complaints of type like they dont have their kink preference or something like that.
Also most prominent one IMO is that this is not "Harem" game and that Pandora includes scenes with other characters not just MC.
There is a valid criticism sure, but it is all burried under a pile of something i dont blame devs to go trough just because their waifu is in random scene with some alien thingy.
Most of your reply focus on people giving silly feedback, I already agreed with that, that's beyond the point.
As for the devs, I don't know man, they should definitely have people to filter out the bad apples while looking for the valuable feedback, not doing that, specially when it's EA, could be very detrimental.
I'm not judging them though, while since launch I do get the feeling they are not taking feedback very willingly, that's subjective and I could be absolutely wrong.
The way you portrayed the game as of now was precise, a proof of concept, perfectly put.
Awesome that you liked it, but for me as a proof of concept it's pretty weak.
First they decided to make two separate combats systems, it's their first game, that's a very risky choice.
The ship combat is shallow and very, very repetitive. Boss battles are usually solid though.
The grid combat boils down to spam whatever stat the enemy is weak and spawn position.
Story is pretty great (except some cringy jokes and over exposition), VA work Top notch and character design also pretty awesome.
The thing is, they take so much time with lore to just then slap on top a bunch of random horny scenes without build-up or any contextual meaning. Pandora feels almost like an afterthought.
The animations doesn't even work in a real 3D setting (the parts we can't see aren't properly animated). During the Talon update they experimented with a more interactive horny moment, that was pretty cool! But then they kinda gave up on it.
Plus not only camera movement and interaction is pretty much zero they also lock everything on short voice loops, which furthers help to create the feeling we are watching "short Gifs".
Could these things be overhauled? Absolutely!
But man, specially the Pandora part, that would be a massive undertaking.
Indeed we are on EA, but these flaws are pretty structural, I think it's unlikely we'll get a turn around.
Let's hope I'm wrong.
1. Chinese review bombing
2. People concerned the game won't ever be finished
