Why is game so hated?
Seriously i feel like story and voice acting is decent, yeah the controls during scenes is lacking a bit but the graphics and animations are top notch.

Minigames are also fine, fights are fun to play and they dont feel just like fill in, only thing i would complain is they take too long sometimes, few more waves then they should.

But the game overall feels like decent, fun game. Didnt had even any bugs or anything, most reviews i see are about "broken promises" when the game is not even finished yet.

What gives?

Because they give 5 out 5 ratings to uncover the picture games, and visual novels. That's what they like best. If subverse was click the tile to show the picture game it would have the best ratings.

Yeah it feels really weird, this game goes WAY beyond even games like HunniePop ... This feels rather odd and that people are angry over nothing.

I don't feel it is! It sells quite well and the mood is generally good imo. The discussion boards are populated and generally comments are pretty good. I think there's some bad feeling from some Chinese players that they don't get a proper language patch and also of course people are far more likely to voice umbrage than talk about something they enjoy, it's just how people (myself included) work.

Well i am suprised about reviews, it looks like game is total scam, which is not! I am just baffled but i am glad i did read your comment. Glad the reviews are not reflective of community.
Well, the most unreasonable people are usually the loudest ones.

Personally, I'm very underwhelmed with what they delivered so far and wouldn't recommend a purchase, I understand we are still in EA though and I do hope things turn around.
Having said that I do see your point, some people do go overboard.

A lot of people from kickstarter seem to be pissed, there's indeed a lot of claims about the crowdfund promises VS what we got, I wasn't a kickstarter backer so I can't really comment on that. On top there's the language controversy of course.

One thing I would like to point though, there's a lot of people giving valid, constructive criticism about the game and it feels like there's a lot of effort to shield the project from that.
And that's something that might just hurt Subverse in the long run.

As you said its till EA, things tend to change but so far as a proof of concept? No bad IMO.

The game is not even finished yet i see poeple complain on forum (Or at least i seen) about stuff which should be in a final game.

Mostly i seen complaints of type like they dont have their kink preference or something like that.

Also most prominent one IMO is that this is not "Harem" game and that Pandora includes scenes with other characters not just MC.

There is a valid criticism sure, but it is all burried under a pile of something i dont blame devs to go trough just because their waifu is in random scene with some alien thingy.

Most of your reply focus on people giving silly feedback, I already agreed with that, that's beyond the point.

As for the devs, I don't know man, they should definitely have people to filter out the bad apples while looking for the valuable feedback, not doing that, specially when it's EA, could be very detrimental.
I'm not judging them though, while since launch I do get the feeling they are not taking feedback very willingly, that's subjective and I could be absolutely wrong.

The way you portrayed the game as of now was precise, a proof of concept, perfectly put.
Awesome that you liked it, but for me as a proof of concept it's pretty weak.

First they decided to make two separate combats systems, it's their first game, that's a very risky choice.
The ship combat is shallow and very, very repetitive. Boss battles are usually solid though.
The grid combat boils down to spam whatever stat the enemy is weak and spawn position.

Story is pretty great (except some cringy jokes and over exposition), VA work Top notch and character design also pretty awesome.
The thing is, they take so much time with lore to just then slap on top a bunch of random horny scenes without build-up or any contextual meaning. Pandora feels almost like an afterthought.
The animations doesn't even work in a real 3D setting (the parts we can't see aren't properly animated). During the Talon update they experimented with a more interactive horny moment, that was pretty cool! But then they kinda gave up on it.
Plus not only camera movement and interaction is pretty much zero they also lock everything on short voice loops, which furthers help to create the feeling we are watching "short Gifs".

Could these things be overhauled? Absolutely!
But man, specially the Pandora part, that would be a massive undertaking.
Indeed we are on EA, but these flaws are pretty structural, I think it's unlikely we'll get a turn around.
Let's hope I'm wrong.
Why tell lies when they aren't true... This game is loved

The game itself was never a real issue for me. Was the long awaited updates, I got game when first released on here. Played it all the way through then waited think close to 8 months for next update. Think they average more around 4 months now. That first impression kind of killed it for me. I honestly haven't had much desire to play it anymore. Think I played it one more time after gallery was added. Just to check that out then haven't touched it since. Not even really sure how much has been added since then.

the negative reviews are for two reasons
1. Chinese review bombing
2. People concerned the game won't ever be finished

Dude as a Chinese player I do feel disappointed since they originally provided Chinese patch option and advertised on Patreon but they removed it sooner after with no reason and no refund. You know, the language in this game includes from jargon to slang which makes it the hell of a hard time to understand for second languagers, not to mention the long long dialogues. Believe it or not I still need a dictionary to facilitate even I lived 4 yrs in America. I personally did not put a bad review on this game, but this violation of premise is something the developers can be blamed of legitimately. Other than that language stuff I think this game is pretty decent as well. Hope you see this message so you can be properly educated about this reason. How popular this game is in China? See how many bad reviews this game receives.

i get why pinks and little pinks would be mad but it makes no sense for them to make a translation for a game that's not finished yet usually localisations are done after a game is finished

100% this

Because the message and life style of the characters on how they accept every aspect of themselves to become stronger better people. completely goes against today's society. The way any of the characters act or behave would have twitter in an uproar. The Vail is like or religion that says a man and women cant find themselves with sex, drinks, or anything because of white people say so and teach everyone else to uphold their values. The game is a reflection of our ethnic values and discord. So of course critics would not like it.
