Illegal in germany
Hey devs, what's your opinion about the new enforced steam censorship that forbids erotic games for germany? This is a huge loss of fans and money for you.

German law forces steam to either
- create an legally binding age verification for adult games
or
- disable any 18+ games from purchase in germany

Steam decided to do the latter...
I mean. WTF. Steam earns 30% of every purchase. Programming a legally binding age verification will never be more expensive, then the loss of money they now have because of the disabled purchases. WTF Valve?! WTF?!

The Government does not like putting people into jail over guns. I don't know where you got that from.

Maybe you're talking about Australia's government, or Canada's.
But I don't think they're that harsh.

Regardless of that, I don't see any government going to worry about this game at all. So, that's not something anyone should bring up.

Also, you can only lose your job easily in a right to fire state.
If you live in a state with no right to fire, getting fired incorrectly makes you eligible for a very big lawsuit. :)

Yes, Canada is that harsh, you can go to jail for simply owning a replica firearm, and that means one that isn't transparent. You can own a airsoft gun over 250 fps, and its considered non restricted, and you can own certain guns if you have a firearm license. But that list of legal guns is getting smaller all the time. And your also not reading my posts correctly, I mean you can YOU CAN LOSE YOUR JOB FOR SIMPLY LEERING AT SOMEONE IN A WORKPLACE, depending on the company's policy, its can be classified as "workplace violence" so I am talking broadly about laws in general. And yes, laws are constantly changing all the time in all country, so, nothing is set in stone, which I simply wanted to imply because, it simply came to mind, more just food for thought than "complaining".

Sounds like Canada is trying to make Germany look like the United States in terms of gun users. :)

Good to know about Canada though.
In America, the only way to be fired from a job for leering at someone, is if you are in a right to fire state.
Apparently Canada is really bad at the rights of workers. :P

While i agree on the tearms that the censorship stuff is bad in germany, atleast here we dont shoot each other in schools, cus every kid with a few bucks to spare can go to Wallmart and buy a handgun.
So ya America does its stuff REALLY well.
Fake news, buying firearms in America requires background checks, both federal and through the ATF, you need Identification too, and you have to pay additional taxes for several parts of your gun.

kids can't buy guns, we have laws against that.

mass shooters target "gun free zones" because they know they would be the only one there with a gun, so we should ban gun free zones instead of abolishing human rights to stop criminals whom don't care about laws anyway.

Here everyone saying, we have a right to give kids above the age of 18 guns for the luls, would be thrown out by force.
Stop spouting America is great stuff if ur county is literally the epitome of how not to do social protective laws.
18 is the legal age of being an adult, nice try tho.

Yep. I think the only possible way to legally buy a gun before 18, would be if you were emancipated from your parents and declared a legal adult.
And even that would be extremely difficult.

I know America is not perfect by any stretch, but we've got some laws here. :)

You can't verify your age on Youtube. How can you claim that?
Anyone can fake their age online. And Youtube can't sniff that out.

Heck, you can literally set up an account for Youtube, and let your kid use it.
No website on the internet can ever verify your age.
That's just not possible.

They all rely on you being honest and not lying.
100%.
All adult entertainment websites all have that whole legal disclaimer thing, because they know they can't verify your actual age.

Unless you expect thE NSA to help out every single website. :P Now the NSA can tell.

Wars were fought with things like cars since the first World War by the way.
However, guns are still less dangerous than cars, because they don't do anything on their own.
A car literally has killed people without any human interference.
No gun has ever done that. :) Seriously, you'll never find a case where a gun up and killed someone of it's own volition. Because guns don't have volition.

The man who played Chekov in the newer Star Trek Movies died in a freak car accident and wasn't even in the car.
i want to answer you but my car looks angry. i am afraid it will drive dead without my key.
Euer_Endgegner 2 Thg04, 2021 @ 11:29pm
i think some people here are misunderstanding germany. Yes we have war in germany, on the roads. But we dont shoot people dead with cars. It about who´s the (speed) King on the Road. And there are always some idiots with bicycle who thinking they have a chance -.-

Okay. FAir enough. Look, I wasn't trying to be mean to Germany. It's on the list of places I want to visit someday.
I just didn't like how he was picking on American sterotypes.

Okay back to Topic.
Is it possible to let a friend buy the game outside from germany and send it people living in germany as a gift?
Crowzer 5 Thg04, 2021 @ 8:26am

Unlike china though (also New Zealand and parts of australia) it is not illegal for me to own them, but it's illegal to sell them without age verification.

I don't think Valve want to hang on that particular legal hook on keeping that type of information secure.

The thing is, you can't blame Steam for what your government has done.
Steam will never implement an age verification system for one country and force it on all the countries in the world.
That would be insane.

Get your government to remove this insane requirement.
Fix your government, not complain about Steam.
Steam wouldn't do this if your government's requirement wasn't literally insane.

It's kinda a big stretch to to blame this on a government which tries to protect children from pornographic media, instead of blaming a platform that enables kid to get their hands on porn games almost all around the world.
Especially the Hipocrysi that Vavle is located in a rather prude country, where it is frowned upon to show a female nipple, is kinda strange.
