Forcing fetishes? Read before supporting

There are several fetishes that can be a major turn-off for most people that studio FOW seems to be pushing for really hard - mainly NTR & bestiality.

"Whilst walking past the Laboratory, the player can hear sexually suggestive moans coming from within as a bipedal alien stud called Bulgetto pleasures your Chief Science Officer. There is nothing you can do about this, so don't even try."

"An enigmatic alien known only as Chodestool will engage in doggystyle copulation with various crew members if you forget to feed him"

The point of a harem is that the girls are devoted to the self insert character - having them ♥♥♥♥ everything, occasionally including said charater is against the very point. Studio FOW seems to be really insisting on making your 'waifus' common sluts (then why the f are they even called 'waifus'?) with same slutty personality, identical body types and thirst for ♥♥♥♥♥ of your mutated pet monsters. And when asked directly, they said that the NTR can be "avoided or skipped" - but not all of it, apparently.

"Storyline is storyline, realistically. Some of it is "hard-coded" into the game, that won't/cant change."

Also, skipping a scene where an alien ♥♥♥♥♥ your favourite girl doesn't mean she didn't get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ - and putting your ♥♥♥♥ in what used to be your pet's cocksleeve is by rational people considered to be disgusting.

Studio FOW claims to be cartering to a wide audience, but from giving all major waifus same body type to forcing relatively niche (and extremaly divisive) fetishes they don't seem to be even half as 'inclusive' as they are pretending to be.

Now, there are many people voicing same concerns, and maybe studio FOW will reconsider and give an option to at least avoid NTR - but untill they state clearly that this will be an option, i'm not giving them any money and if you agree, i recommend you to do the same.

Look, I despite futa. That is a very turn off point for me. But I'll tolerate it for the sake of other things that I like it. Try to have an open mind and don't be ashamed if that end up make you enjoy things that you previously didn't. As long you are not trully harming anyone with you style of life, you are good.

You literally deleted the last thread you made complaining about this, so you could make another one.

There are not "many" people voicing these concerns. You've had to make this thread twice, because it got buried. Most of the stuff being requested, is for more "interesting" fetishes, that thankfully won't be in the game.

I want to clarify a few things.

1. There will be no Bestiality in the game. Period.
2. There will be no NTR, because your player won't be in an exclusive relationship, regardless of your feelings on the subject.
3. This game is not a true "Harem" game in the traditional sense. I am aware of the use of the terms in the kickstarter, but until we get more clarification, assume the other things the dev's have said are valid.
4. The game is a satire.
5. All sex scenes of any type will have to be unlocked by you... I would imagine this could affect the story in significant ways, but there still may be twists you don't like... Personally, I think the bulgetto thing is stupid, but it is a part of lily's character...
6. You also have an issue with body types, anything outside of average does fall under niche, so sticking with the body types they are using does give the game mass appeal.

7. and finally... making protests, and campaigning to withhold you support looks a bit childish... odd are that this thread will be no better received than the others about the same subject.

No one is forcing you to buy the game, so the title of this thread is wrong.

Judging by the kickstarter campaign, plenty of people will love the game for what it is.

2. The girls are advertised as player's waifus - so making them just generic sluts means we get fake advertising

4. Yes, and? It's still supposed to be fun experience to the players, and putting in stuff that can be major turn off without proper warning is at least dumb

6. I don't have issue with body type, i have issue with the fact that all major characters have the same. It would be fine even if all had this type but there was an option to change it through customization or lab - but nothing was said about it so far
7. I'm not "making protests, and campaigning to withhold support" - just warning people that there are unclarified things that can be a turn off for them. Spending money on a porn project just to find out you can't enjoy it doesn't sound like fun.

My post was not directed to those who enjoy all revealed features, but to those who are thinking of supporting it but are worried about mentioned features. If you want to support it, feel free to do so - just don't fall victim to false advertising.

Edit: only thread i made before was regarding body types - but there are many threads and comments on kickstarter regarding NTR/Cucking, and far more on 3rd party forums and other sites. There most definitely is a lot of people who got interested but were turned off by NTR.

It will be in the game, devs stated it many times - and since Subverse is supposed to be fully uncensored, they won't even be trying to hide it.

I'm not saying to remove this stuff - all i'm saying is that many people are disgusted by it to the point it would make the game entirenly unenjoyable for them, even though the rest looks great. Not bringing them in is a massive waste. And i'm not asking to remove it, just to give an option to completely avoid it.

I agree with OP. I don't care if NTR is an option, but when its forced on the player its enough to make me not want to play the game. If it is something that is unavoidable(and allowing me to skip the scene does not count as avoiding it to me) I just wont buy the game.

My apologies then, I judged your actions unfairly. I do think it would do better to understand the nature of the company before expecting anything of particular taste from them. I'd prefer the AO to be vanilla, too, but I think part of this game's charm is the raunchiness and that includes the fetishes.

As a consumer you have the right to not buy something or pledge in this case.
You have the right to ask questions about the product to better understand it - like whatever stuff is skippable (cut the scene before it playes) or optional (like a check box in options or tech tree unlock).
If they can't answer then it may be strongly tied to story, like how well you do or actions you take (she stays only for you is so do you...).
At this point is best for the game to be finish and see what people say about it.

Your goals are:

Whining about things you don't like in a game you are not making, and trying to rope in enough fellow whiners to get your way.

Spreading misinformation about the game.

Attempting to leverage your "support" against your personal tastes.

Facts:

The game is getting made, with or without you.

The kickstarter has smashed every stretch goal. ($768,891 as I type)

People know what they are getting, even if you don't like it.

All scenes are optional and/or skippable.

There is no NTR or "cucking" in the game. (these are specific fetishes, btw)

There is no bestiality, in the game. (alien life forms, sure, but it's optional.)


Everything I have said comes straight from the faq and dev's, DIRECTLY.

You have your answers, like them or not. FOW will not be changing the game for you.

The game has made it very clear what it is, if you like it, then buy it... if not, it's your loss.

It's impossible for any game to do EVERYTHING, and given the myriad number of sexual preferences and fetishes out there, it's impossible to please everyone.
