These are the FAQ's pulled from the games Kickstarter page or comment section. Will be adding to it when I find more. Please suggest formatting options if it's too hard/long/annoying to read. Thanks.


1.Q: What kind of game is this? A visual novel? A point and click? Dream Daddy, but with aliens?
A: This game is an unholy mixture of SHMUP’s, Tactical RPGs, Mass Effect exploration and a sprinkling of eroge goodness.

2.Q: I don’t recognize any of the characters shown. Is this original content?
A: 100% original!

3.Q: Why did you choose to focus on original content instead of making parodies of other Ips?
A: We felt the time was right for us to take control of our future and create something that belonged the studio instead of relying on parodies.

4.Q: How will your movie production be impacted by Subverse?
A: We will continue making movies in the future. Instead of jumping into movies right away in a new engine, we chose to get some practice by using the game as our experimental lab.

We’ve already improved so much from 6 months ago, and we feel that we will improve even more during the development of Subverse. This will make sure we avoid the dreaded “first-year syndrome” that plagues 3DCG artists who are still learning a new engine.

Case in point - compare Lara in Trouble (2014) to Kunoichi 3 (2018), which was done in the same engine. The difference due to experience is vast. The experience we gain on the game, while the programmers are able help us with a lot of the toughest tasks, will translate into much higher quality movies.


5.Q: Will Subverse be your main focus for 2019?
A: Yes, we will be spending most of our time on Subverse. However, our animators will switch back over to the movie pipeline towards the tail-end of 2019 as they finish up their duties on the game.

6.Q: Why are you keeping funding of the game and movies separate?
A: The easy explanation is that some fans might be very interested in our movies but have no interest in a game, and vice-versa. This gives our supporters an easy option when it comes to funding the future of the studio.

7.Q: Are you outsourcing any aspects of the game production?
A: No. Everything will be done in-house in order to develop the skills of our already talented core team. The UE4 programmers we brought on board have signed long-term contracts with the studio and will be assisting us in other pipelines such as VR and movies.

8.Q: Is this going to be different from the flash games you did before?
A: It’s like comparing a Lada to a Ferrari - not even in the same league.

9.Q: How many..uhh...romanceable ladies are there in the game?
A: There are nine waifus planned for the full game if we reach the necessary Kickstarter goals. The early access build will launch with four romanceable waifus, plus DEMI. She also gets several love scenes but does not count as a party member as she prefers piloting the ship to fighting.

10.Q: This looks very sci-fi, will there be alien waifus?
A: No StudioFOW sci-fi game would be complete without bangable alien waifus.

11.Q: How about alien monsters? Will we see some of the ladies getting it on with some xeno lifeforms?
A: Yes! The volume and variety will depend on the Kickstarter goals.

12.Q: What character are we playing as? Can we be male or female?
A: You play as the Captain of the Mary Celeste, who is canonically male.

13.Q: Are there any gay/lesbian relationship options?
A: We plan to include a diverse range of sex scenes based on fan demand.

14.Q: Can you only pursue one character at a time or is this a free-for-all harem?
A: You can romance as many characters as you want during your playthrough. It is a harem fantasy after all.

15.Q: Will the sex scenes be animated or are you just gonna cuck us with stills and voiceovers?
A: There will be animations, of course!

16.Q: Speaking of voices, how many VA’s did you have in this?
A: Every major character will be voiced in the Early Access build. Voice acting in the full game will depend on the necessary Kickstarter goal being met.

17.Q: Will there be enemies in the game? If so, is there a type of combat system?
A: There several enemy factions in the game who show up in both space and ground combat missions. They use varying tactics, e.g. the Space Pirates have chaotic, aggressive styles while the Imperium plays more tactically, with lots of heals and shields.

18.Q: Can I get my desired waifu pregnant?
A: We definitely want to explore pregnancy options (both human and xeno) but it will depend on the amount we raise on Kickstarter and our corresponding budget.

19.Q: Are any of the waifu’s chix with dix?
A: There will be futanari options for some of the love scenes thanks to the genius of Lily’s science. Whether or not they are permanently futa is still undecided.

20.Q: How long do you intend the game will take to complete?
A: If we hit the 150K Kickstarter goal and end up with 10 chapters, it’s going to be least a 20 hour game to complete the main storyline and each of the waifu’s loyalty missions

21.Q: Do you have to work for your sex, or is this one of those hentai stories where everyone is just hungry for the protag’s♥♥♥♥♥♥
A: You have to work for the sex, old-school style! There’s no boosts or paywalls either so you better start leveling your waifus.

22.Q: So is the game done already?
A: It is not – all modules are currently playable but only in an alpha state, and we have a lot of conceptualized content not yet produced.

23.Q: I was an old Patreon supporter, do I get any benefits or privileges?
A: Yes! Patreon VIP supporters (lifetime support of $500 or over) can request a free key from Fow-Chan on our Discord. Please provide us with your old Patreon e-mail so we can cross-check our records.

24.Q: Where can I give my opinion about the game as it develops? Are you doing beta testing?
A: Beta testers will be able to provide feedback on the game via our Discord beta forum, as well as in-game bug reports. Pledge to the Big Bang Theorist tier (£75 or more) to become an official member of the testing and quality team!

We are able to be as transparent as possible with the community because this is 100% our own original IP, therefore your input and analysis of the game will be crucial to its success, especially in the earliest phases.

We value the community’s input if it objectively makes the game more fun and streamlined to play. However, we are definitely trying to avoid feature creep as much as possible since this is our first game.

25.Q: Will there be any NDA’s regarding what we test or can we talk about it freely?
A: There will be no NDA’s as the early access will be an iterative and transparent process between ourselves and the community.

26.Q: Can you put FOW-chan in the game?
A: Fowchan will likely not be making an appearance as she has mortals to terrorize on Earth! Sorry! :(

27.Q: Will this game be censored on Steam and if so, will it have an uncensor patch off-site?
A: We plan to launch uncensored as the game has been cleared by Valve and contains no extreme content that would violate their terms and conditions. We also have contingency plans in place if GabeN decides to be a d3ck.

28.Q: Are there any other storefronts you're looking at just in case Steam goes ♥♥♥♥ed up? Like Fakku, JAST etc.....
A: There are a lot of places we've researched that we can go, but we're sticking with Gabe for now.

29.Q: Can you elaborate about the smenchkin and Studio 69? Are they going to be purchasable after release? Is any lewd content gated behind them?
A: We are currently planning not to make them purchasable after release as that would give them less value to our loyal supporters in the campaign.

As far as lewd content gating goes, that depends on what exactly you're looking to see. From my perspective, the smenchkin is a no and club 69 we have plans for that we can't fully discuss yet, but it will definitely be a lewd place.

30.Q: 1. Steam

A: To answer your question, there will be Steam achievements. There will be many collectible items in the game, such as Boin Boin Weekly pages, that will be similar to trading cards.

As far as cloud saves and replay bonuses go, I apologize, but I cannot answer those questions at this time.

31.Q: How explicit will the sex scenes be? Full on X rated, or NC17?
A: Full on. Expect glory.

32.Q: Will this game have a model viewer? [/b[A: The Locker Room is where all of your waifus will be available for dress up and ogling sessions, so yes!

Agreed. I've already backed it for the £10 one, but will probably change it to the £175 one for the "exclusive DLC and pet" (As well as other goodies.) I must say though, It's pretty refreshing to see the developers offer the digital game at the lowest tier. Most Kickstarter projects I've seen have a small tier with no rewards/a thanks and then at a £20-£30 tier they offer the game.

From what the game is offering, £10 for all of that seems like a steal in my opinion, but if they'll be able to deliver it is another question. (Almost at 30k and still have 38 days left. Fingers crossed)

They already said they have a backup plan as to what that backup plan exactly is they didn't say.

Disappointed in the Male Protagonist only, or by cannonicaly do they mean that the promo will focus on the male protag but that we can still play as a female ?

You'll only be playing as a male character and he will be masked throughout the game. I don't believe there is an option between male or female. The whole point is you're are male captain on a ship with a bunch of waifus.

greater question is what does the kickstarter dlc adds really beside a pet and a area does the pet do anything else besides you poking it and is there any exclusive scenes in the area itself

The pet is just a pet from what I've read and the DLC will add extra content to the game:

"The smenchkin pet, which is basically like having an extra bro crew member to interact with throughout the game.

In terms of unique animations, every single waifu can be taken to this club for dates and will have things they do there they can't do anywhere else in the game. There's going to be a lot of fun stuff to do in the club as well, so it's a place you'll likely revisit. I can't say exactly how much extra play time this will add because it depends on what kind of player you are."

what exactly is a "smenchkin" can any of you elaborate?.. is it just a NPC to interact "talk" with ?

or will it be something that can have sex with you or with your waifus?, could you provide us with a picture / a sketch on the Kickstarter page?
