Also, because the Minotaur has low Craft at the start, the highest Craft enemies were removed from the Dungeon deck for that quest.
Hope this helps!
And with all due respect to the developer, "finding the Sisters of Fate" is not really a strategic move you can simply make.
I have to disagree with this - all of the AI characters are stronger than the Minotaur when they first arrive on the board. The Dwarf turns up with with +2 Strength and +3 Craft on turn 5!
The Minotaur can overcome these advantages with his stampede ability, but this requires good rolls for movement, and if you don't get them before the AI snowballs in killing enemies, you are pretty much done for.
This challenge isn't impossible, but it does take a LOT of luck to get a decent start, and then to press the offensive against the AI players. You really need to do hit and run tactics with them, as you will get creamed if they attack you first. The Thief is really annoying, as they will steal items like the Torch to cripple your ability to ensure high bonuses with your stampede!
ALWAYS remember to stampede... even +1 is better than nothing.
Attack early on... that was my mistake the first try - dwarf had been levelling up and then healed himself too (the git).... and attack whenever you can.
Getting the torch helps... there's more than one...
There is strategy... but this is also Talisman (so RNG is a big thing).
I have kinda longed for a 'quit' on this game though... because if it's going really badly you can often tell that you're not going to manage the quest/challenge... especially speed runs... but you have to play them through to the end regardless... it saves the game if you leave... so that can be a bit annoying.
Other than that I'm having fun with it :)
!!
I didn't even realise that... I thought it was just luck that I wasn't getting the bloody vampire prince etc!!
You can just restart the chapter from the title screen. No need to play to the end every time if it's going badly.
few major problems with this quest:
1. The Minotaur has 2 (two!) craft. Means no spells to heal etc. No spells at all. No chance to increase craft with trophys because you cant kill crafty dungeon enemies with 2 craft
2. Mino 2 craft means, the Necromancer with his 6 (or 7) starting craft, will destroy him whenever the Necro lands on him
3. Mino 2 craft means, anything with a craft will destroy him in the dungeon (Bat Swarm, Dark Elf,. etc) so good luck avoiding those
For example: I tried today again to finish this quest (looks like I'll be stuck on it forever)
Pulled 2 "crafty" cards (bat swarm, dark elf) in 3 turns, down to 2 life. Cant go to the kitchen my dice not allow me:) No spells to heal as I cant have spells. Necro arrives. Destroys me with his 7 craft (no chance). I'm down to 1 life. Trying to go to kitchen, busy staying alive, grinding my STR up, meanwhile the dwarf got 2-3 items so his strenght is about 14, goes to boss, kill him, quest failed.
Tried again, almost the same happened, Necro destroying me in crafty combat, few crafty enemies here'n there, I'm down to 1 life again - but this time my Mino died because he pulled 3 monster cards at the same time, with 3 monsters with a combined str of 18 (even with stampede+Axe and my 11 str had no chance)
So I gave up. it was a fun game while it lasted, worth my money, but I'll never finish this quest except If I repeat it about 10 times a day hoping for luck, but I wont do that, sounds more like work and not gaming:)
Btw I know Talisman is a luck based game, I have the 4th ed board game, played the 2nd edition when I was a kid, I have Talisman DE on my ipad, never had any prob like this before - probably because its only the dungeon (closed) space, only dungeon cards, very specific goals, and you cant choose characters, only the crappy Mino:)
Anyone who said finished it on their 2nd try: go, buy a lottery dude:) and grats:)
