If you fully upgrade it , Gain is a total monster with damage output in the range of Getter/ Mazin Emperor and i just find him a very useful unit overall.
I like him more then Daitarn/Zambot 3 for sure.
And the cheese of heroic Super Robot one liners is something that just is a standard in these games.

is a selected scenes from 'Might Guy' movies, 'Might Guy' wearing in black and 'Joe of Ace' in white.
When this piece was on air(1993), so long since Mazinger Z(1972), super robot stories had been satulated. Introducing many stereotyped character from established 50s'-60s' movie, they tried their stories free from robot-animation format (of the day).
I find myself hard to like SEED more than anything.
Dont know about that, "SEED" and "SEED Destiny" are still always at the top of the list in Japan when asked about most popular Gundam series.
They also are still the best selling series in the franchise.
Its mainly western fans that disliked SEED and especially Seed Destiny.

Yuusha tokkyuu mightgaine is cool.
God, i love 90s animation. So much more soul then the crap nowadays.
As for why the movie is cancelled, it's because the director wife who is also the screenwriter for the movie and series got ill during the production and die later on. By then the studio moved on the 00 instead.
Japanese Otaku proverb reads 'Your favorite is another's rubbish, and your rubbish is another's favorite'. I have no intention to deny your evaluation on any specific piece. For example OP&ED tie-up music pieces from SEED/SEED DESTINY enjoyed a huge sale. Mechanics from SEED are equally liked by GunPla enthusiasts. But in Japan I have seen so many negative words on that piece, mainly on stories and character makings.
I also find SEED to be so so, especially SEED Destiny. At that time I also subscribe to anime magazine who takes their fave character chart from Animage Japan(the oldest and the most popular anime magazine at that time), and during the SEED airing era, and years after Destiny finished airing Kira Yamato and Lacus Clyne continue to be #1 until Code Geass start airing and Lelouch Lamperouge took Kira throne as #1 character.
If you said it's not popular or anything it like saying Gundam isn't well liked by mecha fans because the design and plot has been rehashed many time. There is probably some truth to that, statement, but saying it's not popular or hated by majority isn't the right word for it.
When I play any SRW games I always bench all of the gundams, well, except Erupi Puru (who I put on the Gundam ZZ, but can't even use the ultimate skill because it needs pilot Judau wtf) and Puru 2. OG robots are personal faves, but I also prefer all the non-gundam shows from Zambot/Daitarn, Voltes/Combattler/Daimos, Getter Robo, Mazinger, Tekkaman Blade, Nadesico, Mightgaine, Evangelion, FMP, Code Geass, Gurenn Lagann, or even Cross Ange than any Gundams.
Well, "men of destiny" is a sick bgm but it's not in this game so fk that.
Btw Uchuu Senkan Yamato is easily the best show in SRW V.
