Looking to return - Is it worth it?
Hey all
Enjoyed this game a few years ago and was thinking of returning since I have picked up the tabletop 30k again but is it worth it?
I see a lot has changed, a lot of my old cards are likely not usable anymore and there are not a lot of players online.
Is the game in danger of closing down? Would hate to invest time/money only for it to disappear.

EDIT to ask:
Can anyone explain the Legacy/Standard sets, are all the sets in the shop right now worth getting or should I only get the most recent ones?

1. The game has improved a lot from a few years ago. New cards being made are made with the idea of all factions being competitively viable, and removing mindless strats like endless Kharn smash.

2. You can use your old cards, along with new cards in Legacy mode. I frequently play Legacy mode, and I see old players on there constantly. Just know there's no way to acquire old cards that have been rotated into Legacy mode, which might drive you crazy if you're only missing 1 card from a set.

3. No danger for the game to close down, they are going to at the very least make new cards for each existing faction, so at least another few years. If you're truly worried, don't spend any money. The best way to build a collection in this game is to join a lodge, and thrive in the event mode with 10 ticket runs. Find a good discord community, and seek out good players who can help you draft decks for event mode.

4. You cannot buy cards from Legacy sets. You should absolutely get cards from the newer sets, as they are designed to be stronger than the older cards from the legacy sets overall.

Right now, the newest card sets are the following: Shadow of the Warmaster, Dropsite Massacre, Hidden Dagger, and Inferno. The newest set being worked on right now is the one for Ultramarines, Word bearers, and Orphans of War.

the next expansion to try to finish is malevolence.
play some b4 you invest rl cash. the campaign restarts soon, try finishing the next one for rewards see what that does to you

Follow up question;
What is the order of the sets? Which are leaving next?
I would like to try the new Ultramarines, I'm guessing they are in Tempest, that's "coming soon"?
I would also like Thousand Sons, played them before and also in the tabletop, is the Inferno expansion new or likely to be replaced?

as i said the "malevolence" expansions leaving next, so bloody angels, daemons/ruinstorm and white scars.
TS have already been renewed and legacyd.
new expansion are sadly only ever coming out after the neutral cards have been revealed.
but you could get cards from any active expansion you set in the campaign when getting packs from there that is

Ah ok, misunderstood your previous comment!
Cheers for the answer, will give the TS a go if they are safe!

Where to see which expansions will go next to legacy?

im afraid youd have to track their news posts, atm the UM are out but the new expansion isnt yet- they bring more expensive minipacks out first to entice the early adopters that arent efficiency based.
that means the old um cards are mostly legacy but the wordbearers and orphans of war arent yet.
meaning you can "still" get their cards via the campaign tracks random reward packs, just set em to those to get common uncommon and once in a blue moon something rarer from there.
similar to that also the neutral cards, but their pool is across all expansions, and calth packs are already gone

they do seem to give some factions better gameplay than others. but at least collection is slightly better than Warpforge atm
