My game won’t run properly

I out this onto the reddit for Mafia, however, no one really responds on there, especially the definitive edition of mafia one. I don’t own this game on steam however, I do have it on the Xbox game, which is what I’m trying to play. Below is what i put into to the reddit. If it requires me to go into my files, I know where it is and how to get to it.

Whenever I attempt to open Mafia:
Definitive Edition (Xbox Game Pass), it almost always fails to launch. Note the almost part, because when it is in windowed borderless, it doesn't do this. However, when i was playing the game on windowed borderless straight off of launch, it shows my taskbar, which I do not want, so i switched it to fullscreen, and here we are. It doesn't even launch properly. It shows me a black screen, and i've waited for about 20+ minutes to get it past this point before, and it never did. My ONLY hopes for launching it when it does this is wait, or tab out and tab back in.
Usually this just makes the game put up the warning, or the 2K symbol, but never actually launch it and have the continue logo. I have a video of it happening, however on my screen, it just looks backlit and not black. Hov can I fix this? Thanks in advance!

Try right click on 'mafiadefinitiveedition.exe' > Properties > Compatibility > then check Disable Fullscreen optimizations.

It is commonly in

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mafia Definitive Edition

turn off v sync in the settings of the game then click on fullscreen off however, when u go back on the game after quitting it will open the app back on with the task bar showing so then you would have to go back into settings and keep turning fullscreen on
