it's a mechanical or conceptual issue for most people.
it's not even the hard race in the game.
that distinction would go to free ride classic mode "the mule".
not to say it's the hardest free ride racing mission,
it's just the one that's the hardest while being purely racing.
IMO driving good, mission isn't.
I turned the difficulty down on my first playthrough because the AI cheats.
Unlike the original game, the AI has rubberbanding which means if you get too far even on Easy, the AI will cheat and magically become faster to overtake you.
This is why I find people saying "git gud" about this race to be truly braindead, I literally stomped the race on Easy after failing on Classic a bunch and still lost because the AI cheated and got more speed right before the finish line so I lost.
It's a dreadful mission and the low point in the main story. (some of the Free Ride missions also feel like they were not designed well at all.)
It's easier in the original version due to how the AI cheats less.
it recharges about every half-second. see if the ai can catch you when you do that.
instead of us only hearing from them after they've already rage-uninstalled.
cuz after their initial post, they pretty much **** off forever.
Kinda funny coming from a person who loves some difficult games as per see at my profile.
Maybe it,s becuase i,m used to race simulators.
Cars were close behind , but i found that braking on time for corners made a big difference.
whenever i broke hard before a turn, but... now i'm wondering if that only happens because the cars are snapping forward.... hmm...
This is the only method that worked perfect for me 😂
