game crashes

just downloaded the game and it crashes in the main menu , as soon as i enter main menu game instantly closes, haven't even started the first mission lol, help!!!

Well, I´ve waited like 2 minutes in main menu and then the game is working normally. I had also problem with crashes don´t worry, but after this I´m good to go. ´

The thing is it crashed as soon as i get to main menu without me doing anything

same here, it crashes as soon as I press A to enter the main menu...

Can confirm. I just installed it and probably shortly before the menu should appear it crashes.

I have the same problem so every time i open the game, so when i open get in the first screen i turn off the internet then i just go to the main menu and then i connect the internet again that always make the game works

Go to your local firewall settings, create an outbound rule to block the mafia game .exe file. That’ll fix it.

Go to your firewall setting and block Mafia: definitive edition, you might see two references to it in the listing, right click on them and make sure one make a reference to the launcher and the other to the game .exe, once you have done that, launch the game using the game .exe and DO NOT LAUNCH IT THROUGH STEAM OR USING THE LAUNCHER.EXE IN THE GAME FOLDER.

it was working perfectly fine for me till yesterday but now it just keeps crashing. and i was at the best part of the game

Blocking it through firewall fixed crashing for me, though I am confused as to how that's causing constant crashes

Could you tell me how to do that? I currently have to turn off the wifi to play the game without crashes

I just upgraded my GPU from an AMD RX 5500 XT to a RTX 4060 and the game just refuses to enter story mode or free ride. I can stay in the menu all the time i want to, but after i enter a loading screen, it seems to load the game files and then crashes after a few seconds... Couldn't find a fix yet.

Edit: I did let Steam verify the game files and it found one broken/missing file and it repaired/downloaded that. I also launched in windowed mode and now everything works fine,

also one of the fixes is that to disconnect internet and then you can join the game, once you are in game , you can go back online and will work fine in fullscreen

for me it's simple i have RTX 3050 so go and select your best GPU in game setting of 2K launcher and game will not open in first try you have to do it many times, then game will run smoothly and if you have a laptop then connect it to the charger.

i've got rtx 4060 and i do have it selected as well, it's just launcher is messing up with the game
