Game Crash upon clicking enter to start the game

The game launch fine but after that when I click enter the game just shut down by itself, anyone know why?
My Drivers are fully updated, my windows is updated also and the ingame setting has been fully reset.

Ok so reinstalled the game kinda fix it but not sure for how long, I think the issue was when I alt-tab it cause it to crash, I think, not too sure.

Looks like 2K launcher does something to game files that causes the crash.

To fix this, go to your Steam Library page, right-click the game, select Properties, go to Installed files tab then click on "Verify integrity of game files" button. Wait until it finishes and try again.

Note that this may reset some of your settings, but do try the game first to see if it crashes before changing anything.

Stupid game publishers just have to add their own launchers everywhere ...

EDITL Weirdly enough, it still crashes and it only seems to do that when I press Enter on "Press ENTER to start" prompt. If I click my left mouse button instead, it continues running properly.

I don't have a SuperBrain (...) but in this case probably a programming error on that button.

Only just started playing the game, first ran into the issue of controller not letting me accelerate even though it works in every other way, and now this when i tried restarting the game, like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Turn off your wifi -> launch the game and wait till the game loads to menu screen -> Turn on wifi -> Enjoy!!!!

Having the same issue. Bought the game yesterday, played a bit and it worked just fine. I open it today and it crashes every time I press enter to start. Tried fixing it, nothing worked. Asked for a refund.

Im having the same issue almost every week. I got the SOLUTION! Only thing what you have to do is to clear cache in settings of 2K launcher. After its restart you are free to play ;) Your welcome

Solution ive found is to just verify game files on steam, seems to work after that, but then i have to do it every time :/

Happened to me once, but I had alt + tabbed before that.

Just block the mafiadefinitiveedition.exe batch file in windows firewall. You don't need to join 2K, and certainly not if you don't have a profile there... This is a permanent solution to stop crashing
