Mafia DE won't launch

Hi everyone!

So I was playing the game, just finished the mission "You Lucky Bastard" and continued to "Crème de la Crème". Because I had to do something else, I turned the game off after watching the initial cutscene.

The next day I wanted to continue playing, but the game wouldn't launch anymore. I get to the 2K launcher, but then when I try to start the game, I see the game logo/artwork jump into a corner of my screen (like usual, when it was launching before). Then it just disappears and it's like I never tried to start the game at all.

What I tried so far:

• Restarting the computer
  
• Launching the game from the folders directly (bypassing the 2K launcher)
  
• Verified the integrity of the files
  
• Checking/updating graphics card drivers
  
• Reinstalling .NET framework 3.5

I honestly have no idea what else to try, that's why I'm here because I wasn't able to find any other possible solution...

same here , just bought the game and i can't launch the game ,
was stuck on 2k logo , alt +tab wait 2 min , back in game , stuck at next logo , alt+tab, after stuck at Menu
man 0.5h in game and i dont launch a fkn game

ok i used Rivatuner software to cap the game at 144 fps and i've played for about 1h with no crash. just some micro freeze every 5min

UPDATE - the fps cap worked only one time

This worked:

i optimized the game with geforce xperience and launch it (with geforce xperience software) in windowed mode
in 2k launcher didn't touch anything , and in the game , put the game in window borderless
and finally the game run smooth

Does a fix exist for people with AMD GPUs? I have an XFX Rx580

idk, but i'm pretty sure dev abandonned this game. The game was released on 2020 and at this time no fix available

sorry about that, it's look like no one can solve the problem with one unique solution. i've tried a lot of before i find this one

in geforce experience the game was in high detail (max) and windowed bordeless
when i launch the game from geforce experience : it run 2k launcher, when i go in config in 2k launcher it was config in :
- 1366x768 resolution
- no full screen
- no vsync
- no motion blur
- all details in high

clic on play
the game run correctly in 1080p and run smooth for me

i hope these little thing can help you find a solution

Open folder "<steam>steamapps\common\Mafia Definitive Edition"
launcher.exe > right button > "as administrator"
It should open OK > wait a few time and close it
Launch the game from Steam > the launcher auto-updates him.

I can confirm that this solution worked for me, you are a godsend. Just have to keep doing this method for every time I play the game, constant stutters are a thing of the past thanks to you!
