That doesn't work on this game. Plugging in a USB into the controller doesn't work either. You need an Xbox controller!

I also played with PS controllers for YEARS because I had them around. Even used emulators/apps to keep them going. But I could not believe the improvement/compatibility smoothness when I just started buying Xbox controllers (and I've never owned an Xbox either, only got them for PC). Although I always get wired controllers because I've had conflicts/problems with some games and wireless controllers.

Do yourself a favor and take the plunge.

1. Check the Steam Overlay is enabled globally and for the game
- Steam > Settings > In Game > Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game = ON

- Right-click Mafia DE in Steam Library > Properties. On the General tab > Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game = ON

2. Enable Steam Input either globally or for Mafia DE. This is setting it on for Mafia:
- Right-click Mafia DE in Steam Library > Properties > Controller > set the override to 'Enable Steam Input'

This worked for me, only needed the final step. ds4windows would probably work too but the above is a far better solution.

I have it on console. I prefer Steam.
