Sounds like your car might be out of gas. Find a gas station (they're marked on the map), stop next to the pump under the little roof and refuel the car by pressing the button that is suggested on the bottom left. https://i.imgur.com/ynoFoqf.jpeg

When you leave Salieri's backyard, turn right, then left at the first intersection, and a gas station is one block down that street on the right.
