car aim assist always on

However the settings i'm trying to use, i can't free aim while in a car
i play with mouse & keyboard, aim assist is set OFF on the settings, not sure if i've missed something

It will automatically target in one of the three (Tire, driver or engine), there is a way to switch between them but i don't remember how. If the game won't automatically target then the car can't be destroy. (Happen's only twice i think)

there is an option to turn the aim reticle on. i have it set to my 3rd mouse button (i dont remember the default). it dosent work like in the original mafia game where you actually see your arm with the gun out the drivers window. its just an aim reticle you use your mouse to point with.
im sorry but this is the best way i could explain it.
