I started the game on classic and it took me about 30 times before I decided to find an easier way to beat it. I just followed this, set it 500 and easily won.

As a KB/M user, it could easily be beaten if you've got patience of steel. I did a research and found this video helped me passing through this hell of a mission.

Ill check it out when i replay the game in classic, my pc specs are way to low to run this game above 30 fps on low graphics, i wanna get the true experience when i upgrade

It might seem a bit difficult but after about 10 tries i did it on classic on my first playtrough.

I could never beat the race in the old 2002 version. I remember just downloading a save file that was past that point lol. It was a lot easier in this game - maybe I'm a better gamer than I was 20 years ago or maybe the controls are just better... or both? *Shrug*.

well I beat the original game way back in the day and never knew it was supposed to be difficult. I remember it was frustrating but in this race if you don't get far enough ahead on the first turn, you gotta restart it. They could have made it at least more fair by giving you a decent car that has a similar top speed and acceleration to every other car.

Your car has the same acceleration and top speed as all the other Brubakers in the race. There are also Carozellas which are a bit faster on paper, but their gear ratios don't fit the track at all (2nd gear is too short, 3rd too tall for all the shorter straights throughout the lap).

Use manual transmission and stay in 2nd gear for almost the entire lap, only shift into 3rd gear for the penultimate straight / final turn / front straight. And use the banking in the final turn to maximize your exit speed.

I thought this game was about the mafia not a car racing game, really annoying that you go out of your way to avoid car games and this is what has been for the fist few hours.

The race took me 12 or so attempts on Classic mode. The main thing I found out that helped a ton was using the ramming feature to cut corners without spinning out. Frustrating, but not impossible if you have the patience
