Race is just as hard as I remember... and maybe even worse
4th hour classic mode with manual on it. And it's really hard... and i absolutely love it!

I also think the race is harder on Classic mode than it was in the original before even before the update.

The trick for me was shift gears more effectively. I know you're not asking for suggestions, but hey... Watch your speed and learn exactly what is the max speed of each gear and make sure to never shift too early. Always stay in the right gear for your current speed. At first I was making that last sloped corner on 3 and losing a lot of speed. Gear 2 is the best on that last corner. After I figured out my gears properly, I finally beat it.

I'll take this advice man thanks. It's really hard.

That worked for me because the acceleration is very slow so you wanna squeeze each gear to it's max before shifting gear up... And of course.. once you slow down and your speed goes back down to another gear's range, you make sure to always shift it down too. When you learn exactly the speed range of them and shift them correctly, you will notice that you will have a much easier time keeping up with everyone and will end the first lap in 3rd or 4th.
i just finished the race after....38 try haha.; maybe i'm bad but it's hard as hell for sure,

I play with a controler and I press A during each turn for keeping control of my car, i think it can work for ya, it's a cool trick
I still am having issues with beating it and I did it on the original. However, I do like the fact it is hard. I was using automatic, but I will try the manual shifting to see if it helps.

Did it on Classic mode, but maybe after 14th or 15th restart. Got quite annoyed after so many re-attempts and then I finally got my sweet sweet victory, god it felt good. I was almost ready to give up.

Running half the cars off the road helps alot
It needs a skip button like the digital edition of the original game or a skip like the original physical edition. It is the worst part of the original game made even worse.

It is quite easy actually, especially since quite a few opponents clear themselves out in scripted crashes... Learn what a racing line is and try to follow it in corners, you will gain a lot of speed with that.

For me this mission is so easy Im trying to do speedruns on it. It is far from the challenge the original race was.

This tip is pretty important for those of us who have less than perfect driving skills. Causing a bottleneck or deliberately blocking any drivers behind you as early as possible thins out the pack.

Unlike the original game's race (which had me blocked for literal days trying to perfect,) I managed this race in maybe seven or eight tries.

Also, after completing it I discovered that the "Test Drive" feature of the Carcyclopedia will outright show you the best path to take on the race mission. The track is set up with hay bale barriers that clearly show you how to best navigate throughout the course. So if anyone is still having trouble with the Big Race, they should investigate this handy "preview" of the course.

It's really easy after trying over and over again. You just need to make it to the front in the first 1-2 laps and manage to keep yourself there without crashing. If people get too close, ram them and be aggressive. Also, cut corners on turns. Also, when turning, let go out the directional buttons and just tap the ram key. It will turn you straight.

For me was easy. Its nothing hard if you play many racing games. Controlling speed on turns and dont touching opponents cars and you are fine. I done on first attempt on Classic difficult.

Anyway it was fun and satisfying race. :)

Absolutely satisfying. Felt like an honest, earned victory.

Took me about 2.5 hour or so (classic/manual as well). Enjoyed the challenge, and it was...still fair. Even if I am not good at racing games, now I could do this faster. The race gives some handouts and tactics to use. Rewarding in every possible way, enjoyed it a lot.

A few chapters later coming scene with an armored car though... thats completely BS and really bad design...sigh.

Lol thats pretty good imho. I think I was closer to 100 attempts than 15. I could get through the first curve decently like only every 1/6 of attempts or so... :P
