Fullscreen Remove 30fps Cap?
Has anyone found a fix for removing the 30fps cap from fullscreen mode? If I set it to borderless it removes the cap, but I have to set everything to low on my Ryzen 3600/gtx 1070 to get a smoothish 60 frames per second. I suspect borderless fullscreen might be impacting performance, but I could be wrong. This might just be a very difficult game to run in general.

When you turn on vsync framerate is capped at 30fps? If you find mafia 1 game exe and go to properties and disable full screen optimization this will run your refresh rate your desktop is using.

That did it, never had to mess with that setting before. What a silly thing for Microsoft to add, "fullscreen optimizations" that does exactly the opposite of what it implies.

Didn't work for me, I had to change the the monitor setting in Nvidia Control Panel. From Application-controlled to Highest Available.

Drivers came along way from 85 115 in very detailed busy area in narrow roads and max 120 130fps now more 140s 150s and justs alot 165 fps alot of time if I had 240Hz monitor MSI AF shows 180 240 alot

At first I wished game had ultra or extreme settings at first just all high 16x AA but don't need looks sick !

f you find mafia 1 game exe and go to properties and disable full screen optimization this will run your refresh rate your desktop is using. this worked for me and now at 1440p im doing 130s to 165 monitor limit

The "disable fullscreen optimization" thing did not work in my case.
I'm on an RTX 2080 Super with 527.56 drivers.

Instead, what I did for Mafia to run uncapped in fullscreen mode was to set the "Preferred refresh rate" in Nvidia Control Panel to "Highest available".

what gpu do you have? my 2080 super rarely goes over 100 fps, it's mostly 80ish-90ish when outside special missions ie. at the airport mission I did have 120 fps.

I9 10900k@5.2
32GB DDR4
Gigabyte 3090RTX GAMING OVERCLOCK @ 2130@99558
2 970s EVO PLUS NVME M.2

Most of time 97% 135+' 155+ and alot 165fps some dips 120 130s
If higher Hz there is times where 180+fps 240fps on a 240Hz
