Has anyone figured out how to get controllers to work?

I tried everything I read on the forums about this and my Xbox One controller still doesn't work.

I really hate driving with keyboard :/

Not sure what the issue is for you but Controller works instantly for me, with one plugged into my PC, even on the launcher after clicking play game in Steam, all the buttons become controller buttons. I've only played Mafia Definitive Edition so far with controller, because thank god you can now do everything in game with controller. It's the one thing I hated about the original game, that I could only use controller for driving and not for controlling my character on foot. So I'm happy that is fixed in the remake. If you though are having issues with controller not working, then you must have some other issue on your PC causing the problem. Perhaps try uninstalling your controllers and re-installing using latest drivers or something.

I haven't tried pluging in the controller yet. If that fails, I'll try reinstalling the drivers. Thanks dude!

Ok tried plugin it in, re-installed the drivers, no luck.

It's really weird, every other game works without a problem and there are tons of topics about this here.

I'll try to contact the support if I find their email.

Mine also works fine.. Doesn't even matter if I plug in after launching the game or before.
Xbox One wired controller.

Make sure to go into Steam Big Picture mode, go into settings and disable any and every controller support. Steam controller support can conflict with some games native controller support. Always leave all controller support unchecked in Big Picture mode and only turn on when the game requires it (No Man Sky for example).

Make sure your controller is NOT enabled in Steam's interface & "big picture mode".

Then restart Steam and try the game again.

The Xbox controllers work fine but Steam's controller support interferes with the game.

I tried everything you guys suggested and it just doesn't work. There's this Microsoft thing when I press the Xbox key for some time, it starts this Xbox overlay, might this be the problem?

I try contacting the 2k support now.

That's the Xbox Game Bar. You can turn that off. https://www.windowscentral.com/how-disable-and-remove-game-bar-windows-10-creators-update
