Why 2K removed the original devs & the originality of the Mafia
The original Mafia was under the development for more than 4 years and finished in 2000, the publisher delayed it for 1 year to release it, meanwhile Rockstar make a gta 3 in a 1.5 year and released it months before the Mafia release.

Later on the 2K (the owner of the rockstar) brought the Mafia tittle (IP) and the Developers company of it.

2K changed the Developers company to its own name.

And after almost finishing the the Mafia 2 development, 2K make the legendary artist/director/write like Daniel Vavra to leaved the Mafia 2 project near the end,

They forced the rest of the developers to remove some lore of the game like the bus, trains and limited number of heavy weapons to carry on and etc.

Still the Mafia 2 was a successful tittle for the players and critics, mostly in the parts of decent writing and directing of the work. (and sure how much details it have from the co-workers on it)

Then 2K kicked out the rest of developers right after the success of the sale.

Years later, even wen the Mafia 1 had/have a big fan base and sale, 2K removed it from the Steam.

After the heavy attacks of fans, 2K bring it back to the market but with the removed some audio files in the name of copyright, (while any none brain dead person knows how much old musics are cheap to buy)

Meanwhile they polished gta 3 while not only damaging Mafia but also didn't adding at least wide screen support.

Then 2K brought some newbie developers to make Mafia 3,

The main character of the Mafia 3 was someone totally out of Mafia family/category who slaughter families/characters/category of classic mafioso. that was the "the end", "finishing move" on this series.

Now wen at least people knows the original Mafia as a father of the games like gta, saint sow, godfather, scarface and etc. In the remake, they removed all side quest, free time between the missions, free rides on the main camping and etc. like this game was never the open world but the liner adventure, they replaced the faces of the characters with totally different and mostly unlikable faces, With all these (wen they don't even try to make a new faces with a vibe of old faces) they are disrespecting the original here too, (no need to mention the small changes in the brilliant writing of this masterpiece from Daniel Vavra for what?)

No need to mention that they removed everything that gta series haven't them from the start.

Or, let say it was hard for the developers to bring that details, so one question i have, we had a button to turn on/off the cars engine while sitting in the car. it had a great impression wen was waiting for something and etc. while placing the option like this will need a few minutes of the work, why they didn't even put this one?

Did they even tried to invite the original director/writer, the artist like Daniel Vavra to give them some tips and suggestion as a guest? no i don't think so as i don't think they did really played the original game seriously to understand and care about the details.

Final world:
2K may have a plan to make a Mafia series from Open world to the liner cinematic genre,
And if they just done some mistakes with the fans and original developers but all with the good willing, they can apologies for disrespecting accidental or at least explain whats happened in the detail, they can care and repair the damaged the Original Mafia (at least as its one of the most important games in our history) and i promise all the old school fans will be here buying the 2K games again happily, personally i have many 2K games on my 3 launchers and i truly don't want to stop buying and enjoying the great tittle that 2K brought in.

No need to mention that wen the taxi driver on his first mission (at the gas station) use the knife like he have a 40 years of criminal background is not showing that they do know what they are doing, if they are doing something with the good will.

T2 own 2K and Rockstar.
Maybe you should have taken a business class or two instead of an art degree.

ouch

@Panic Fire,

Maybe,
I sure you, i'm not that kind of person who argue on the other's degree with being Absolute certainty (or even mocking them) on the business like that business(wo)man knows nothing about the business but me as a art teacher.

So

You are the Businesswoman, lawyer or the T2's Staff right? or at least knowledgeable person with your own studies on the business's laws?

Will you tell me by which laws, wen one company (T2) have a 2 companies (2K and Rockstar), how much the mother company (T2) can have a control on his companies by the law?

Also (by the law) How much they can able to set a same goal or strategy and (for most important part in our conversation) How much they are limited by the law to not co-operate and make their decisions together?

-----------------------------------
At the end ((**summary**))
-----------------------------------

"Looking forward to learn the amount of law limitations for co-operations of 2 or 3 companies with the same owner."

Mafia was a much darker, more serious game with heavy emphasis on story and simulation-like mechanics, while GTA on the other hand was an open world arcade game with loads of freedom and light entertainment for the player.
I wouldnt even say that they were in competition for the same player base. Yet if you compare GTA 4/5 with Mafia 3... these titles seem to be much closer in regard of gaming experience.
That is because the GTA series made a real leap from GTA: SA to GTA 4 away from the fun arcade shooter, while Mafia came in from the opposite direction away from story driven simulation to a more easy arcade appearance.
In my opinion both series were great at what they were doing... i loved Mafia and i also loved GTA Vice City / San Andreas. Now it seems to me that both games gave up their unique playstyles in order to be more...alike?

Given that 2K has the resources as well as the know how (as was said, there were actual developers from the original game working on Mafia DE) i really dont understand why it was developed that way...

I believe They are changing the position of each series in the History of the gaming world, for the GTA goods, while still making money from this series till it have old fan base but i dont believe they will keep it at the end. still i hope (as a positive person) that im looking to negative on what T2/2K is doing.

But anyway, you are a good reviewer.
