Oh My God you ruined the OMERTA mission
!!!!!!SPOILER!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!SPOILER!!!!!!!!

What was that quest really? First you removed that high speed chase at the beggining of the quest and put some kind of slow, boring not challenging car follow but that is okay.
After i arrived the airport i immediately shot 2 guys and went through a building. At the other side of building i died and when i reload i ran to a green door without shooting anyone and opened it. THAT IS IT. QUEST OVER NOTHING HAPPENED IT WAS OVER I DIDNT EVEN DRIVE TO THE BANK. ONLY KILLED 2 GUYS AND IT WAS OVER.
In the original Mafia it was one of the best quests. That high speed chase at the beggining was so challenging and fun. At the airport the car was trying to run over you and if you didnt side roll you were dead. The guy with a crowbar that came with a truck was attacking you i still cant forget the shock when he attacked me. The FBI guys ambushing you, that sniper at the tower, that women was attacking you if you killed his lover. A guy calling the cops and if you cant kill him before the phone call police arrives but if you kill him before the call you are good. NOW NONE OF THEM LEFT. RUN STRAIGHT TO THE GREEN DOOR AND IT IS OVER. THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR RUINING THE BEST GAME OF MY LIFE.

First.. collect your thoughts. The mission is much better now because it's not a linear mandatory shootout.

Second.. What high speed chase at the beginning are you talking about? It was a slow follow just like this... It probably became a chase for you because you fail to tail correctly.. I played the first one many times and was always a slow tailing just line in this game. Have you tried to be detected during the tail to see if you have to chase them?

Third.. they removed all the nonsense the original force you to do such as go find his family.. then go back to the entrance to find a ticket etc...

But the best part is, you can play this mission anyway you want.. you can shoot everyone... or can go full stealth. I went full stealth and it was a lot of fun... Took out 4 guys from behind and didn't alert anyone.

The only downside, which I agree with you.. is that you don't have to manually get out of there.. the game takes you to the bank automatically and I don't appreciate that.. I wish I had to make my way back to my car and drive to the bank myself...

However.. now you play inside the bank, in the original would be just a still camera looking at the bank and Thommy voice over.

Overall, I think the mission is better. In the original was just another shootout like all the others in the game.

And more importantly.. why do you want this game to be like the original? The entire point of this remake is having a different take/interpretation of the missions.. almost as if a movie was made based in the original.

The original Mafia is one of my favourite games of all time and I cal always go back and play that one for nostalgia sake.. which I did earlier this year already. Now I have 2 of them.. This game doesn't make the other one go away... and I wouldn't want this one to be exactly like the other one. I'm loving seeing the story and missions being told differently.

When i played this quest at the original Mafia Frank's car is always driving at full speed and ramming everywhere and i always assumed they see me and driving at full speed. Could be a bug or i always get caught i dont know but like i said it wasnt the biggest problem for me.

Problem starts at the airport. Quest ended in 2 minute dude. I decided to shoot my way in. After i shot 2 cops i ran inside to the waypoint and everything was over in 2 minutes. Everything else was a ctuscene.

I agree about the things you do inside the airport like going back getting ticket, finding family it was annoying but i prefer that to this.

Wait till you see the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bank mission at the end.
Oh and btw, your experiences iwth Omerta is pretty much what the rest of the game is. At least that's the experience I had.

The new Omerta mission isn't so bad. All in all they extended every mission with many more buildings (indoor / outdoor areas) and modern mission design with more cutscenes / action moments. On top of that you can do many missions now in stealth if you do it right. Other annoying mission parts were also redone. Like the escape from the warehouse in the slow truck. In the original this was a pain but now it's more like puzzle to avoid the street blockades and 1-2 patrols.

The prison mission is the best example. In Mafia 1 it was just 2 small corridors with 3-4 punks to shoot and in the remaster it's a whole prison with 3 fully detailled floors and courtyard. Instead of the escape by car they changeds it to "fight through the prison full of cops and escape by sewer".

I had an issue with that cigar stealing mission. You got shot at immidiately when the alarm sounds (which is pretty jarring in the first place) when you get to drive. I got away without meeting any cops, then the cutscene at the end of the missions ends with Tommy running and calling for Paulie and asking if he was shot or not...doesn't really fit the scene when I'm just calmly stroll into Salieri's warehouse. If he got shot, they probably would've heard something. And again, the pacing of the whole cutscene felt rushed. I guess mocap costs a lot of money, so they had to keep cutscenes short.
