Free Ride: How to change time period/year
So after getting further in the story and as the years progress the cars do to. Though this also carries over to the free ride mode. Is there any chance to change the year in free ride mode or at least bring back the cars from earlier missions (1932 for example) onto the streets again?

Ive been trying to do this myself. Digging through the game data it seems to be linked to the .SAV file for freeride called lh_freeride_extreme. I havn't found how to edit it yet.

I haven't any "lh_freeride_extreme" files but the traffic pattern seems to be linked to story mode. Maybe "0.sav" to "2.sav"? Hopefully adding options in update or modding.

Traffic density and spawn distance can be changed in the config file under Edit folder. I was unable to find anything there about the models used for the vehicles. But you can change numerous other things such as police AI, the number of carriages on trains, speed limits, collission damage, etc

I do believe right now that the array of vehicles that can spawn is in the save files. I am trying to find a way to access those and see if I can find anything there.

I believe I have figured out a solution; in the folder sds_retail inside of the Mafia: Definitive Edition main directory, there is a sub-folder called cars. Using this folder, you can replace the sds file of the carsthat spawns in traffic to the sds file of the cars you want to spawn in. For Example, if you want to spawn in the Shubert Six instead of the culuver airmaster, you would simply make a copy of the shubert_six.sds file, delete the culver_airmaster.sds file and rename one of the shubert six files into culver_airmaster.sds. This will take a while as it takes memorization of car names but it does the trick, just make sure you back up your original folder. PS: This also works for Mafia II if you want the 40s cars to spawn in the summer during the 50s section of the game.

Nice, seems we have a bit of a breakthrough and are one step closer. I believe the game takes the items in "cars" folder and uses an array to spawn in certain vehicles. If we can simply extend this array to fit more cars we can just spawn all of them without having to lose any by replacing them. I'll do some digging and see if I can find said array.

I have found another SDS file titled "lh_city_traffic". Perhaps it is in here that the array exists. There are also things left over from Mafia 3 in here too.
