Mafia 2 Classic or Definitive Edition?

Hello!

Since I haven't seen a post that clearly covers this topic, I was wondering which version is better to play, Mafia 2 Classic or Definitive Edition?

To be clear, the Mafia series is probably my favorite of all time and I've played this game before, but the last time was a couple of years ago and now I'm on Windows 10, with two monitors and a fairly solid computer, so are there any specific (game-breaking) bugs to keep in mind for one or the other or can I just go with the Definitive Edition as that's the one I haven't tried before?

haven't encountered anything too major, but considering the classic edition looks pretty much the exact same since it uses the same models and whatnot and has no glitches vs the def editions few glitches few and far between, I deleted the def and downloaded the og for myself

Classic is just a slightly less broken than DE version. Also classic have some song that ware remove during re-release.

Ah dang, okay. I was kind of excited to check out the DE version, but I guess it is actually a downgrade then. :(

If you fix the physics of the hero’s clothes, then I can’t go to the classics after the definitives in comparison... it’s more optimized for modern hardware after all, I spat about stuttering when driving in the improved version, but I went to the classics and there were stutters even everywhere and when running, so for me it’s only the definitive in 2024. Online on Steam they say the same thing that the majority prefer the definitive
