Then they have lost all my respect and also abandoned more than half of their playerbase. Not worth giving them money at that point
Maybe not "Nintendo exclusive", but maybe Nintendo paid them money to put the PC release on hold until the Switch 2 comes out. Maybe they made a deal with Nintendo 🤑 to release Silksong simultaneously to the Switch 2, so they had to delay the PC release until the Switch 2 comes out.........which would be super scummy from them.
Its easy to verify:
If the game releases at the same time the Switch 2 does....then they sold us out to Nintendo.
I dont get the hype for Silksong anyway.
I mean Hollow Knight is a pretty good game, but:
- Super Metroid
- Symphony of the Night
- Animal Well
- Shadow Man
are just better.
Why is Shadow Man in your opinion "an entirely different type of game" ?
It has all the ingredients of a metroidvania, the only difference is its 3D nature.
Name one aspect of a metroidvania, which Shadow Man does not have ?
The only aspect I can think of is that it does not have an interactive map... which makes it even more hardcore. It does have a vague map tho.
The NPC storylines are pretty charming and well written in Hollow Knight, but let's be real here, the main story is cryptic, very pretentious, way too edgy for its own good and basically Dark Souls copypasta. Every single line of lore on the statues, monuments and shrines is just pure cringe. And its written in a form which makes it really tiresome to read.
I know Shadow Man is also very edgy, but at least it's well written.
Even if what you're looking for is simply a Metroidvania HK still clears all of those tbqh. It perfected the genre. Nothing else even comes close.
I disagree.
The puzzles, secrets and multi-use of items is way better in "Animal Well".
Hollow Knight doesn't even have any real puzzles, beside of finding breakable walls.
Item management is more fun in Symphony of the Night.
And level design, music and environmental variety is better in Super Metroid.
Hollow Knight does have the best boss fights and the most amount of content out of all of those games, if you include the 3 DLCS ?
Dont get me wrong, Hollow Knight is for sure a 86/100 type of game.
Its just that especially Super Metroid and Animal Well are just better imho.
