Hollow Knight: Silksong

Hollow Knight: Silksong

Who believes this is even real anymore?
Team Cherry backed themselves into a rough corner because taking so long to release this allowed the Genre to flood with great games and new ideas that now they feel like they have to keep making the game "bigger" instead of just keeping it what it should have been. More hollow night but through Hornet.... This should have come out 2 years ago it doesn't have to be the biggest genre defining metroid-vania The more the wait the more the are going to want to keep tweaking and they will never be satisfied leading to longer and longer dev time and more money wasted. I doubt this game will ever come out.

I personally believe the game will launch in February of 2026. I know you won’t agree with me, but I think it makes the most sense.

Edit: the game is definitely real and will release someday.

2026 would be nasty work.

Believe me I don’t want to wait that long, but I’m willing if the game is good.

It's gonna be good, they gonna most likely have been play testing it like crazy (knowing them) and the fact that Hollow Knight players are pretty much some of the most hard core players EVER they gonna want to make it the best they can first time I think.

Who cares when its coming out? People are still gonna buy it like crazy and nobody would be feeling like "muh ray tracing" or "where is 8k" when everybody is still on 1080p panels

We can wait for another couple of years - nothing will really change. I had the first one unlocked framerate wise, and the second one should be similar

Maybe make it 2027, we don't want them to rush it.

I think it’s far enough in development that early 2026 is possible.

Never rush a masterpiece I guess

The worst part is, I agree. I've been theorizing that Team Cherry's ideas got a bit unstuck and they just kept adding more and more "stuff." Like, they got an idea, put it in, and keep having to adjust and adjust and adjust to make everything cohesive. The advantages of indie development is that you can be ambitious and go as big as you want without a studio holding you back. The disadvantage is that someone to say, "Okay, hold on, you're getting a bit ahead of yourself there," means that at least you're taking a step back to realize things are getting to be too much. The point there being, they don't seem to be doing that.

I just hope Team Cherry realizes that, before Silksong becomes the next Duke Nukem Forever of indie games.

You are assuming they're still working on it. They're not. The game is dead and will never come out.
If the developers would have been working on it, they would do their best to maintain their fanbase.
They don't give a crap about any of you. So stop assuming they're working on it.
The game will never be released, and the steam page is purely a fraud by now. They need to remove it.

It's not fraud if they have not collected money for it, which they haven't. At least not on Steam.

That said, it is absolutely ridiculous this game isn't out yet. "BUT MUH KUNG FLU!" excuse wore out 2 years ago.
