This OST gives me hope it will be
Just my 0.02 $.
Wow, thanks!
You're so precious. )
What's really sad tho, is that it's been 6 months since Team Cherry has given us an update.
I know they're on a crunch, it'd just be nice to hear from them twice a year. Hope they're okay.
Unlike Hallownest, the kingdom of Pharloom may be ailing, but is not dead yet: this land is not only a more vibrant landscape than Hornet’s homeland, but within it still dwells a seemingly functioning society, full of bugs for Hornet to help.
And help them she will, if this is any indication: “[...]unearth ancient mysteries and search for lost treasures to fulfil the wishes of the downtrodden and restore the kingdom’s hope. ”(This sentence is also a reference to the new quest system).
I don’t know about you, but I think becoming a folk hero is a much more optimistic premise than vanquishing the phantoms and unquiet dead of a failed kingdom, potentially fulfilling your fate as a living sacrifice.
Of course, until Silksong comes out this is all pure speculation, but it doesn’t seem like Team Cherry is aiming to replicate Hollow Knight’s atmosphere, nor should they in my opinion.
Consider, as an example, Majora's Mask.
You have a town full of characters, and you help the majority of them.
Almost everyone is suffering, and everyone is about to die if they aren't dead already.
Not exactly what I'd call "lighter" than other Zelda games even with more focus on NPCs than usual.
The themes of Hollow Knight are very different from Silksong.
Hollow Knight is about descent, where as Silksong is about ascent.
Hollow Knight is about slow methodical play where as Silksong is a lot faster paced.
I could very easily see Silksong being tonally different as well. It may have sad or dark parts but it makes sense that it would be a happier game.
All of this, honestly.
Also, Pharloom is not a dead kingdom(unlike Hallownest), and this means Hornet may have an actual chance to save it and its people.
That alone would make it a more optimistic game in my eyes.
