But I suppose it's just like the loud anti-Denuvo pundants to not do even a minimum of research.
There are others but I guess you got the point I wanted to make about where the lack of research lied. I'm pretty sure Team Cherry isn't even considering to use Denuvo but it wouldn't hurt to kill those concerns in the egg by officially confirming it.
Who knows maybe this time you will get lucky and they will come into this very discussion and confirm they will only use manual lookup passphrase copy protection.
With a code wheel!
I do prefer seamless solutions but the argument that because something worse exist, the limits of Denuvo are ok to accept looks a bit silly from the consumer's standpoint. It's a false dichotomy as it's not either Denuvo or something worse: there are multiple better and healthier alternatives for all the parties involved.
The size of the game isn't the point, Denuvo(or anything that work similar to it) is bad for consumers and shouldn't be use."Piracy hurt sales if you don't use our DRM" is nonsense and indie developers shouldn't listen to that.
Exactly.
Like I said, the way Irdeto trying to sneak their parasite into indie games is concerning, and disgusting.
Ironically since Silksong is likely to be DRM-free it'll be much easier to pirate.
Denuvo makes more sense for big studios trying to sell their beta-state boardroom products for 60 soon to be 70 bucks at launch, with premade dlc season passes inc and half of the art locked behind the ingame cashstore.
