Incorrect.

Its not dead, it takes only so long because they got greedy and try to crossdevelop it for pc, switch, ps4, ps5 and xbox at the same time.

And if you are already upset about that than just wait until you see how blurry they made the backgrounds compared to the early trailers, because the hardware of the switch couldnt handle it otherwise ;=)

I'm not the only one who noticed the blur in the newest videos.
The yt channel "mossbag" made a video about it in which you can see a comparison between sharp backgrounds in the early trailers and blurred out ones in the newest trailer at 7:15 min in his video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhrzVKeW6Oo

It could also be that they planned at the beginning of development to have detailed backgrounds, at least to some degree and then realized that it would be too much work, so they started to blur already made backgrounds out.

Oh I see your point now ...I'm a bit disappointed If the game will be downgraded on release even on PC .....i thought this development limitation problem couldn't carry on to indie games but ....sigh.... here we are

I really hope the switch version will be 1080p docked, 720p handheld with stable 60 fps and the pc version won’t be the switch ver ported over to pc. Maybe recent trailers were just showing off the switch ver and not pc ver. I feel silksong could actually work very well on the switch bc hornet’s sprite is bigger than the knight’s which makes it better for smaller screens. HK on the switch is decent… but it definitely feels like the inferior ver and pointless to play (esp on handheld) if you already have the pc ver.

Yeah, they should have focused on the pc version and ported it to other systems after release, like they did with Hollow Knight. But large publisher like Microsoft and Nintendo throwing money at them can be very persuasive.

I don't understand people buying third party games for the switch anyway.
Even if you want to play portable, why not just play it on the steam deck ?
Games just run and look better on pc.

I kind of regret buying my switch. Nintendo is making maybe one good game every 2 years. BOTW, Super Mario Odyssey and Splatoon are in my opinion the only 3 games worth getting on the switch since release in 2017.

Where is Metroid 4, Pikmin 4, Donkey Kong Country, Mario Kart 9, F-Zero ?
The content of the switch is only made for weeaboos (animal crossing, pokemon, generic JRPG 111, ....).

No Hollow Knight fan wants to hear it but it is true that permanent cancellation of Silksong is a possibility that we should all be mentally be prepared for. I've seen it happen to other promising games before and there can be many reasons why it occurs.

Why would they cancel a game that they practically already finished making in the process of 5 years ? Not to mention all of the backers that gave their money ..

I'm beginning to think they've accidentally deleted the hard drive with all the game files and are too scared to tell us
